This is exactly how I feel about nursing. I came from corporate America, got laid off twice, and was absolutely done with it. Nursing was the best decision my wife and I have ever made. We are in a much better place in our lives because of our profession. So, this video really hits close to home. Keep up the great vids!

I was a 28 yr old single mom working jobs that paid slave wages. I always wanted to be a nurse but didn’t think I was smart enough. Turns out I took a night class and it showed me I was smart enough. Signed up for prerequisite classes to apply for for the program the week before classes started! I was on dean’s list the whole time I was in school, worked part time as nursing (tech) aid. Never looked back! Graduated in 92 with honors! Retired now after an accident but miss it a lot!

This was fantastic because it is so real. You didn’t sit there prescribing what someone should do; instead, you described what you did and how you did it. I work in mental health and I love my profession. I definitely don’t get paid the big bucks, but I experience genuine fulfillment and happiness because of it.

First off, most sincerely I off my Congratulations on your success! As an RN of 25 years, I fully appreciate the commitment, dedication & perseverance it takes to become an attending physician. Yet, on the other hand, I think, Damn, 14 years to get to a place where you're finally happy?? That's a whole lotta life of not being so happy. I write this just as a message to those of us who love to read the comments of a video because I think it's important to find a way to find happiness in the place where we are in life, to find those pockets of joy in life. "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain" (author Vivian Greene).

Really needed this right now. I’m 23 and about to graduate as an MD in Paraguay. My dream is to be a radiologist in the US but sometimes it feels very far off and almost impossible. I don’t have any guarantees that any of it will happen but I trust God to guide me and despite being a crybaby about a lot of the work I’m totally willing to give it a shot. You never know if you never try, right 🙌

There is no shortcut. Worked 20 years as social worker - loved it, but needed a change. Fast 4ward 10 years working part time, attending school 🏫 as a single mom 👩 & made a career change: education AND authored MY 1st BOOK! 📖 * Was it hard? Yes! * Was it a long haul? Yes! * Were sacrifices made? Yes! * Did others have fun while I worked nights 🌙 & weekends? Yes! ♥️ Was it worth the sacrifices?ABSOLUTELY! ♥️ It's never 2 late to change directions 🙂

As a junior doctor (and KZfaqr btw!) I have trained myself to forget about the destination - being a consultant (or attending) is so far away for me that I try to just enjoy the process and the journey. But when I take a step back and reflect on the job… i doubt i can do it forever and watching this video gave me insight I didn’t know I needed … That there is a end (or at least a plateau) to the grind ha! Thanks again for a great video Dr Cellini!

You should go to London if you ask me! Loved it after studying in Mexico for 2 mos.,Madrid for 2 mos all while in college. After growing up in Wisconsin and putting myself through college and not having any family so to speak of. I was in an institution from the age of eight thru high school at which time I went out on my own and putting myself thru college. Went into education to teach. In California got my 5th year to get my life credential to teach in California. As they require 5 yrs in California to teach. So I not only had a secondary credential but now an ECE credential in California. Knew I free to do as I wanted and had loved my traveling education and no family holding me back. I eventually did get married in California with 2 step children that I loved as my own!

I needed this so much. I’m in undergrad studying engineering, but I’ve always had a voice inside my head telling me I should be trying to do medicine. I’ve been on an internship this semester, and I have not enjoyed it at all. I have been researching like Dr. Cellini about getting into med school, but unfortunately I’m scared of failing. I don’t know what I will do if I don’t get in. This fear has paralyzed me from even starting to pursue my dream.

If you fail, you reapply the next year! It’s really not the end of the world. Hard work WILL get you into medical school just like it will get you through it. With that being said, a lot of people do get in on their first try, but they also work extremely hard and make the necessary sacrifices to do so. You can do it!

Currently feeling this now! I was originally a nursing student and always wanted to be a nurse and just help people. I worked my butt off and applied to nursing school but I applied during the spring of 2020 which is the same time the pandemic hit. They ended up denying me but waiving my chance and saying that it was because of covid they had to shut down their campuses. I was super discouraged and I felt lost because I went through a lot of work to get there. I ended up switching my major to healthcare administration and am currently working a 8-5 job at a clinic. Although I can appreciate the business side of healthcare, that thought in the back of mind about going back to nursing school hasn’t left me. Now I am a senior about to graduate with my bachelors of science in health care administration in the spring BUTTTT I made the decision that I’m going to try and apply to nursing school again and see what happens. I didn’t think much of it because I’m working a corporate job I hate and at this point what is there to lose when I already feel like I hit rock bottom. Anyway fast forward to last Friday, I’m sitting in my lecture when I get an email saying that I have been accepted into the nursing program!!! My heart sank to my stomach and I felt so much excitement. I will never forget that day because I got to a point in my life where I realized that I would rather do something I love (nursing) then do something convenient (health admin). So now I’m going to be graduating a year later but I will be getting my BSN and I have no regrets, not a single one. This is all I’ve ever wanted to do and I’m very lucky I realized all of this now that if you really want something, go for it. The only thing in your way is your own self doubts.

I was moved to part time in order to get my series 7/66 licenses so I'm stuck in a limited hour, limited pay position until I'm licensed. thanks so much for posting this video’ ! I am literally where you were in 2009 (or 2007) right now. In corporate America which I hate and dread waking up to…. And I knew this as soon as I graduated college in 2017 and got my first “corporate job” But I thought, Its too late and I’m too old to go into medicine, it would be like starting all over again. But I made the decision this year that NO it’s not too late and I know I can do it. So after much consideration and tbh absolutely no back up plan I am starting prerequisite courses in January 2022 for PA school (Yes I watch all your wife’s videos lol) Honestly, thanks for this because i have been in my head about this transition for the last 6 months but I just know corporate America is Not for me
