Ruth and Garrett are awesome people and I'm so happy you've become such good friends! I've been following them for years, They're a dedicated, hard working couple and an inspiration to any sailor I'm sure. Bill your narrating game is top notch, your style reminds me of Brian T. who I consider one of the best narrators on KZfaq. Good on ya mate! Hi Jim! Yes they are super, we hit the jackpot in La Cruz! Many friends for life formed 🥰 think Ruth and Garrett will come visit us in FP too! So I laughed when I read your comment about the narration .:. I’m glad you like them they are def a labor of love because he usually has to re do them multiple times to make them slow enough … and then on the edit side I still have to slow them down lol 😂 But I’m glad all that so working in the end! Yep we will cross the equator around midnight so I think we’ll have our little toasting 🥂 tomorrow when we’re both up and feeling more festive 💕 we’re getting close!!!

It's great to see how when people who are passionate about something, they are so willing to pitch in and get things done for others who share their passion. Back in suburbia most people don't know anything about the family 2-3 doors down the street. Here you have temporary neighbors who'll drop everything to come lend a hand for someone they've known for a few weeks or months... and in many cases a lot less time than that. It's a pretty cool community to be a part of. Considering how little sailing you've got to do in the last year, I'm hoping this crossing is going well, and for the most part your just getting to enjoy being at sea again. I can't wait to view French Polynesia through your lens and narration...

Thank you for this heartfelt feedback Bruce. You articulate the community aspect so well - it is really unique. We used to live in nyc so we know what it is like not to know your neighbors! I think you are right about the passion aspect … no matter how many times we experience the magic of this community we’re always amazed. We’re feeling very fortunate for the friendships we forged in La Cruz. And we hope to be able to help out other sailors in there time of need as well. Actually think Ruth and Garrett will come visit us in FP! Get them excited for their own crossing 😉 Real time we’ve been treated to a pretty spectacular passage thus far. Thank you for following our journey 🥰

It sure looks to me that the aft line of the lazy jacks should be going much higher up the mast and both sides should be able to slack off for sailing. But you’re already out there, hope it works well for you. What a fun village!

I like how Salt and Tar filmed your episode. It is not to see footage that isn't in selfy mode. It is fun to see a different style. My old captain would die watching you guys furl a sail. He was a stickler for even and flat furnling.

Love the sail pack. I have to take down my mast to bring my boat home from Kingston NY through the Erie Canal, I plan on installing lazy jacks and making a sail pack when I get it home in a few weeks. Thanks to this video I've figured out how I want the sail pack to fit on the boom. Grace glad your health is continuing to improve. Happy little village you have, best wishes to everyone! 🌏🏖🏜⛵🍹🍻

Grace, so glad to hear you had a great checkup!!! My first cancer was totally clear unfortunately during my 6 month CT they found another different cancer at a very early stage again. 4 rounds of radiation took care of that and have been fine for 4 months. I’ve been on the hard (for me means in the hospital for 2 weeks with a heart attack but getting released tomorrow 🎉) Like I told you before we have watched Garrett and Ruth since they poured their keel. So glad you and Bill have become great friends. Too bad you’re not crossing together! Happy sailing, safe passage and much love!!! Janice and George

I think you'll love your stack pack ! I follow Salt & Tar as well as a dozen or so others. It's absolutely great when the sailing community comes together to work and play. It's fun to see. Kenna on S/V Sitka says they have kind of "normalized" their life sailing because they've done it a while but, by having a crewmember onboard, for a short time, and seeing his reaction and excitement, it gave her and Jay a newfound appreciation of their sailing lifestyle. All of you work so hard to video and edit and fix your boats and all of that. I know I appreciate it that you are sharing your adventures. Thank you and be safe !

We are loving it so far! Yea it’s funny you do get ‘used’ to aspects of this life - it’s always good to have friends and family or crew visit so you can experience things through fresh eyes. My mother came to visit before we left (will be next couple videos) and she was so blown away by our community here! She stayed up late every night hanging out. She can’t find the same type of connection back home in AZ. So it’s certainly special and I’m so happy we are capturing that in our videos and it is resonating with our viewers! Thank u for following our journey!!

Salt and Tar, and all of ya very kool 😎. Good to see the new rigging and sails of all things is think rigging and sails would be the largest part of boat repairs. I see a lot of water maker issues and auto pilot 🧑‍✈️ issues, scrubbing the bottom, painting, rudder issues, it just seems to me there’d be more rigging and sail issues. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway GOOD ON YA MATEs. Take care don’t sink the boat or fall overboard! 😅
