‘It Was Awkward’: Chad Daybell Said Vision Told Him Late Wife Wouldn’t Live Long, Friend Testifies

Alice Gilbert, a family friend of Chad and Tammy Daybell, testified in court Tuesday about Tammy’s health, the couple's relationship, and Chad’s ‘odd’ behavior after Tammy’s death. Gilbert said she remembers Chad telling her that he had a vision about “Tammy’s time on earth was coming to an end” and “he didn’t see her living past the age of 50.” Chad’s new wife - Lori Vallow Daybell - is on trial for Tammy’s death, along with the murders of her two children Tylee Ryan and J.J. Vallow. When Lori was arrested, Chad asked Alice if she and her husband could put up their home for bond to get Lori out of jail.

There's a perfect word for his audacity. I learned it from my Brooklyn-born grandma. The perfect word for Chad (and Lori) is CHUTZPAH!!
@WyattRyeSway
@WyattRyeSway Жыл бұрын
@@maneckineckbeard1749 …..that’s a Yiddish word. My grandfather uses it (we are Jewish, though I am secular) because his father who escaped the Holocaust used it. I’m not sure it is the word for psychopathic narcissists though. Maybe. My grandfather uses it for things like “Wyatt did you take the last cherry drop from the package in my car?” Me: “Ummm……yes”. Feigning extreme outrage “Well you little guttersnipe. It was the last one! What chutzpah!”. I’m not sure four dead bodies and a possible death sentence for Chad isn’t a little more than “chutzpah”. Both Lori and Chad are paskudnyaks (evil people). I think that might be the word. I don’t speak Yiddish although my mom speaks a little. In English these people are evil pieces of scum who should both be put to death (too bad Lori didn’t get death) as soon as possible. How flipping evil can you get? Honestly.

@@WyattRyeSway Also, I'm so happy to hear your grandfather escaped the Holocaust! It's literally unimaginable to me just how many people died in such a short time: out of the entire Jewish branch of my family, only ONE single distant cousin survived the Holocaust! That's out of dozens & dozens of cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, etc. It really gives me a shrek (feeling of horror) to even think of it...but at the same time I know that it's vital for people to remember it in order to hopefully prevent it from ever happening again. Wishing you all the best!

@@maneckineckbeard1749 …..you too! Yeah, his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and siblings didn’t make it. My grandfather is still a religious Jew. Always has been. Disappointed when my mother married a Baptist Texan but you know, he passes on Jewish wisdom when he visits from Illinois. He and my paternal grandfather could not be any different. It’s really funny.

Why do the children of abusive parents still love them ? Sometimes there's a survivor's instinct to try to make things be, in your mind, what they need to be to make your past and life bearable. What happens to your entire perception of your past, if that father you thought you knew was instead a serial murderer? Some people can never get to the point if accepting that, but time will help.

They had no right to do that, it was the only place where people could go to memorialize them and show their support after the children were found. "She looked good" - as in, she looked as remembered in good times. It's a relief when the dead look like they aren't in distress. Imagine if the viewing didn't have any prep at all. It would simply further traumatize those who want to say goodbye. If you ever have to make funeral arrangements for a death, you'll learn this.

Chad Daybell killed his wife Tammy after he raised her life insurance, without her knowing. Loris 4 husband left a huge life insurance and she raged with anger learning she was not to receive any money. She got life insurance from Joe Ryan, her 3 husbands sudden death. Loris cousins husband had a huge life insurance and they tried to kill him. He took his children and escaped while the community was shaken with fear not knowing if there would be more murders.

I'm guessing that it was because he was experiencing limerence (romantic obsession) for Lori and was unable to think about anyone or anything but his own selfish desires and his fantasy life. Cheaters are almost always in a state of limerence due to the secretive and forbidden nature of affairs. He really didn't care or even pause to consider comforting his kids because all he could think about was Lori and whatever sick fantasy life he was obsessing over in his mind. Limerence is messed up, but the selfish people who have affairs and commit murder are pure evil. I'm guessing that he is out of limerence now and he's facing the reality of his situation and he's finally able to see that his actions have consequences. I hope that he's miserable and I can't wait until he throws Alex and Lori under the bus in an attempt to save himself.

Interesting that Emma had issues eating afterwards. I wonder, was it perhaps just due to stress and maybe having one little brain cell in there that was flickering and telling her this isn’t right, or if it was Chad and Lori’s weird “we don’t need to eat” crash diet influence. Not that relevant, but the fact that so many people in the Cox family have anorexia to the point that Chad sort of gleaned his own eating disorder from Lori…it’s bizarre

He must think he's so special with his powers of prediction and all. The fact remains that any one of us could predict the death of a partner when you yourself are planning on putting your hands around their neck. For Chad, divorce would have taken too long and would have meant the division of assets. So, better for him to murder her, keep all of the assets and collect the large life insurance payout. Of all the wives in the world, Tammy did not deserve this. They were together for over three decades, and she bore and raised many children. She was a good woman. Chad should reflect on that in his cell. I wonder how long that marriage to Lori would have lasted, because she married many times. How long could they have been happy together once the honeymoon was over knowing all of the betrayal involving their relationship. Would Lori maybe have known the fear of going to bed with a man who strangled his first wife? Would he have eaten the food she prepared when it could contain poison? We will never know. His trial next, and I hope they will throw away the key. How nauseating it was for Lori to call Tammy her "dear friend" at the sentencing . Friends and mothers don't do what Lori did.

I do agree with Prior over one thing: Chad was not the master puppeter. It was Lori. Chad is not the sharpest tool in the box. And the fact that he asked the neighbours to put out their prperty to help him gather the money for bond proves it. It doesn't mean that he was not a manipulator and that he does not deserve the harshest possible sentence. His stupidity does not mean he isn't as guilty as sin.

Because she is talking about events reported to her by someone else. It would be pertinent if it was Chad talking about the kids disappearance, but it is still heresy to invoke the news, especially if the news isn't being entered into evidence. It's pretty technical - It isn't the judge's fault for sustaining such objections - The defence is raising them in the only moments they can, and it just so happens that these moments probably won't matter.
