The difference is indeed quite subtle and some authors don't even make a distinction between the two. Others, like Manciolino and the Bolognese Anonymous define Tramazzone as a rotating vertical cut winding from the inside line (your left side if you are right handed) while the Mulinello comes from the outside line. Both of them have the same trajectory as a fendente and are delivered from the wrist, making them fast but not that strong. Hope that answer your question!
