I'm married to Ken and we have two boys aged 8 and 6. I'm a Londoner, born in Hackney! :)

Hit the nail on the head, we just don't talk about money! I grew up with a saver and a spender, so I think I managed to find balance in my own finances. However I didn't know anything about investing so that, as I'm approaching 40 is scary. I try not to think of the years I have lost but work hard to make the most of every penny coming in. My advice is definitely budget, budget, budget! You've got to get your ducks in a row. Find out what payments are going out every month that you simply don't need and get rid of them, and those you do, get those prices knocked down (don't be afraid to switch providers). I found getting it on paper, a huge eye-opener. There were multiple forgotten subscriptions, and going through bank statements we were eating out way too often - but also spending massively on groceries!

Really cool seeing you on ITV Ken...ironically but typically I tend to view individuals that get featured on mainstream TV quite cynically whereas in your case I cant as I'm practically implementing and pressed by the value of the book workbook as I'm literally in week 3 😆..Ken is walking a talk FOR REAL

Was brought up to save money & not be wasteful. Dad would always say to save money for time in need. Thats what he learned from his parents. I wish he had encouraged us to invest too.....but no one in the family knew how. I encourage youngsters amongst friends/family to put money in pension n ISAs as they have time on their side to allow a nest egg to grow for later life.
