acting out all these emotions of fear happiness sorrow furious, in a 5 minute music video is crazy because we see actors failing to act out a single emotion in an 1 hour long episode but here he is, the versatility is showing 😭They they forgot what they were running from because through the lens of the camera, they were able to just love and enjoy life until the reality caught up to them and they were taken away ICRY 😭😭😭😭

I don't remember a single music video that evoked so many emotions in me. A magnificent clip of the singer IU with a divine voice and the brilliant actor Kim Taehyung. This is not a clip, this is a work of art.💜❤💜

The thing about this mv is the more times I watch it, the more emotional it makes me. I didn’t cry the first few times I saw it and now every time I watch it I end up crying. 😢 absolutely stunning … IU’s singing and both of them acting. I REALLY need to see V act in a romance or Rom Con now.

i saw something, it`s interesting. in the end before cube turned red it sparks just like tv screene. kinda like this trembling flickering light on old tvs, i believe it called tv white noise or smtg similar. because of this kinda `tv reference` i thought about celebrities life, lives on camera, on tv... how they`ve been `swallowed` or `dissolved` or `evaporated` in this at the end, with all their `scars` shown... just like screene exposes celebrities `scars` for public. idk am i right or not, director means that with reference or not but for me it`s interesting detail. for me personaly all this storyline references lifetime in general. i mean we all born clean and innocent, without scars and imperfections. just like duo inside camera. we`re living our lives sometimes happily, sometimes sad. and this negative leaves this scars on us, just like on IU&V. sometimes life takes away something from us just like IU`s sense of hearing and V`s one eye was lost, they`re not perfect now. so in MV they`re basically living their life together in love, with happy and sad moments\memories, aging together. they`re living till the end of life (in song we have the line `go to the end with me my lover`), they`re in the end of life journey, death comes closer. they will face the death soon and they`ve been scared because of this, will be separated soon. they desperately try to fight but know in advance it`s hopeless, death will take them anyways. they prefer to face it together hand by hand. and this words in the end Love wins all for me means that love even stronger then death. death took them away but they was together all this time, even in the end because of that it`s not victory of death, it`s triumph of love, love wins all anyways and always if we live in love your whole live. death means nothing to loving hearts

Correct me if I am wrong but I think IU said she wrote it for her fans. I think it is a sweet commentary of their parasocial relationship. My interpretation is IU is IU and V is Uaena (her fans). The cubes are trolls/ media. In the MV, she is deaf/mute, he is partially blind - it may seem there is no fathomable way these two can understand each other. However, whether separated by language (she cannot hear/speak) or distance (he cannot see), they communicate about sweet memories (about macroons and taking pictures) and laugh much like inside jokes between IU and her fans or photos at fanmeetings. They both have scars of criticism or scandals over the years. At its end the trolls/ media come to consume another artist and fandom and discard it like a pile of clothes and IU is ready to fight but V (the fans) steps in front of her to defend her and their bond, but they are met with a bitter end. A sad reality every artist must face someday. She sheilds V's good eye to protect him from the inevitable. I think she understands the way it is but is happy to set out on the journey with her fans anyway. I think of her lyric "Will you courageously set with me? Destroy me slowly and chilly, ruiner"; OR this is just about her and her boyfriend, and her asking for some privacy, not sure haha.

everything about this is stunningly and devastatingly beautiful. this music video was directed by uhm tae-hwa, an award-winning film director (his most recent film was the critically-acclaimed "concrete utopia"). uhm tae-hwa previously worked with iu to direct the vcr for her 10th anniversary concert tour. the combination of the music video and iu's super poetic lyrics seriously makes me cry :,)

so glad i didn't miss the last bit - what you added is similar to what i thought when i first watched the mv. iu sings to run away from the world, the society that is mainstream and will do anything it takes to box you up (burn you down) the moment they discover you're different with out-of-the-box ideas or flaws intolerable to them like the characters' sight and hearing. the camcorder is such a brilliant idea since most of us including idols appear to live colorful, perfect lives in what we shoot for social media but in real life none of us is without wounds or flaws. no matter how hard they hold on to stay afloat, entertainers are readily tossed out like fast fashion that quickly piles up

I have been following IU for 14 yrs and I think she has been my favorite Korean singer throughout the 14 yrs. Her acting is sublime. She had a traumatic childhood. But she overcame the poverty and family situation situation. She is also a kind and loving person to all who have the opportunity to meet her.

The director did say viewers can have their own interpretation. The camcorder serves as a filter and allows imagination to roam freely. Everything is imagination through the camcorder. Reality resumes when you see their wounds and tattered clothes. In the end, the two of them are seen ascending to a better place through the camcorder, while they are eradicated in reality. So sad. So beautiful. So brutally real.

I had the thought of the cubes being monitor screens of the faces peoples of the internet spewing venom with Taehung attacked the cube and it looked like we were viewing him from within the cube. I also said I could be on a sugar rush when this idea came to me. The ability for one person to cause another person so much pain till some find death the better choice than fighting faceless attacks that can come 24/7 is very real in any part of the world no matter who you are.

By far the best reaction and most insightful analysis. I also thought that the “defects” they’re being hunted for by the cubes are akin to society coming after people who are deemed not “perfect”. It could be an idol who’s considered not skinny or attractive enough, or anyone who has views, opinions, or life style that’s not considered the “norm” or “acceptable”. And, of course, love prevailing in the face of adversity is such a timeless theme and can be applied to pretty much any conflict. Their acting was impeccable! IU is a pure soul and so is V. Their chemistry is off the charts. They were able to portray love as a general concept, as opposed to just one aspect of it (like romantic love). I loved the transition between defiant rage and an urge to fight to then realization that their fate is sealed and inevitable in V’s acting. Just in a few seconds you wanted to fight with him and you were rooting for a better outcome and just as quickly you tried making your peace with their fate. Also, IU’s acting is so brilliant that, as a viewer, I felt the moment she, too, realized it was over and her first thought after this realization was of V and shielding him by closing his good eye. This is a masterpiece on all levels! Sorry this was so long, but there is so much to say about this phenomenal piece of art 😅

This new IU music video "Love Wins All", co-starring V of BTS, was really well-made. It could have passed for a short film. All the elements were there. It wastes no time by starting off right in the thick of the action. Then it takes us to this heavenly place, where we fall in love with the 2 characters, as we are taken on this journey with them through some happy and heartwarming times. Then, just as we are having fun, just as they are having fun, reality kicks in again. The ending is made all the more heartbreaking, 'cos now we find ourselves wanting to fight for and defend the 2 of them, as much as they want to defend each other. We know the end is coming, and we might even sense its inevitability, but a part of us wants to hope that it might still end well for them. But then, it doesn't, and by the end, we feel sad and quite devastated that they are gone. And yet, when we see the words on the screen, "Love Wins All", it's kind of bittersweet. It makes us question if that's really the case, or not? 'Cos they perished. And yet because they perished together, while still loving each other, perhaps love does win all after all. This music video is such an action-packed ride squeezed into just 5 minutes and 22 seconds. It took us up, the way the cube took them up, then dropped us down at the every end, just like the 2 characters' clothing being dropped on top of that pile of clothes. I loved the story and IU and V's acting in this video. This is probably going to be one of my top fave music videos of 2024. A Romeo and Juliet tragedy set in a bleak, dystopian, futuristic sci-fi world, with IU's emotional music and expressive vocals as the soundtrack.

The mv is a reminder of all the discrimination and hatred in the world. Anything that doesn't conform to the norm for society faces eradication. Love wins all. We need to give love the opportunity to take root. Give love a chance.
