And they will continue to happen for generations to come. Just look at the Horn of Africa. It’s not really a fight between Ethiopia and Eritrea. It’s a messy brutal Game of Thrones fight between the Tigre, Beja, Nara, Rashida, Afar, Bilen, and others. Because in Africa, historic tribal allegiances, and historic tribal animosities, have always been far FAR more important than any nationalistic inclinations.

@@Hackenschmidt. Rhodesia was still a racist state that oppressed the majority of its population. The fact that this is your example just illustrates how weak your arguments are. Just because the government that followed was even worse it doesn't mean European rule was a good thing for them. Part of the reason a lot of these states are so dysfunctional are the borders that Europeans made and the centuries of corruption and exploitation without any investment in education that laid the groundwork for much of the issues post colonial states have. If you're cramped together with a dozen ethnicities in some weird state construct and all you know is centuries of mismanagement and exploitation, its not really a good base to build self-sustainable and functioning states.
