Also the dog is most likely secured on a short chain. Might slip but won't fall off. It's illegal to do if the dog isn't secured. But does happen in rural areas that only have local rangers and few police. We have really strict laws around animals here.

A ginger farmer in Aus was on the news this week. They gave up farming because they could not make money. The supermarkets were giving them $7 kg and selling for $70 kg and expecting the farmer to also pay transportation costs. Govt is currently reviewing supermarkets ripping off farmers and customers but doubt anything will come out of it, as usual. Cost of living in Aus is now ridiculous.

Pineapple fritters are very readily available in Australia. They’re a throwback to the Chicken Maryland era and are still popular. I love mine dusted with cinnamon and sugar! The perfect dessert with fish’n’chips or chicken ‘n’ chips. By chips, I mean the full ones, because the skinny ones that Macca’s has, are full of grease and inedible when they’ve gone cold. Good chips can still be enjoyed cold and not be full of grease! The more surface area of the potato that’s exposed, the more fat is absorbed, so bigger cut chips have less grease, which is why Aussies love potato wedges too!

Everybody has their own tastes but in my opinion Red Rooster is one of Australia's best takeaway food joints. They don't deep fry like KFC. They roast their chicken. In my opinion they do the best chips (fries). My favourite is the Flayva Wrap. Roast chicken fillets with lettuce, tomato, cheese and herb mayo (some times I get bacon as well) in a soft flat bread, like a tortilla. My brother loves the pineapple fritters. Pineapple slices that have been cored and then dipped in a batter and deep fried. If I had any problem with Red Rooster is that it is more expensive than KFC but the quality of the food makes up for the price.

So, the Ford Everest was co-designed in Australia, in Melbourne at Ford's Engineering Design Excellence ( something like that lol ) dept. along with the Ranger. Ford US awarded it to Australia from our past reputation for various things. This has happened twice and been very successful. The two biggest selling VEHICLES in Australia for a long time , is now utes, not cars - like the Falcon/Commodore battle before. Hilux and Ranger swap continuously each month for top spot. Tax concessions for utes - not classed as cars but commercials. Some aspects of the design also compensate for our previous sedans that we lost, and can no longer be found in imported sedans. The Everest is the WAGON version of the Ranger. But different base and suspension - more family and refined and sells well. Was put up against Prado during development. Now is available with a twin turbo 3.0 litre V6 diesel and 10 speed auto. Shared with the VW Amarok.

the insect looks like a stick insect & they can be up to 300mm (1ft) long. It looks like it is imitating a scorpion to scare away predators I saw one near home that had purple wings, it looked amazing I've seen Utube video where they import an Aussie ute, cut the cab off it & marry the rear to the front of an American Pontiac/Chevy

I consider voting a privilege. One that everyone should partake in. We have two weeks of pre polling where you can vote before election day, postal voting options where you can apply to vote by post and the election day on a saturday, where you can attwnd in person and in many places buy a democracy sausage.

Red rooster has the best gravy out of any chain whaaaat, also its known for its roast chicken not fried. But the pineapple fritters are my personal least favourite thing, it's so vanilla-y. And the dill sauce is the best, I always make my own dill sauce at home inspired by them lol, that lady and I have opposite tastes. They also used to have the best chips of any fast food place but I couldn't tell you if they still do as I haven't been in years (don't eat meat anymore)

Also English bisto gravy is the worst I've ever had so maybe English gravy and Australian gravy are just too different. Not saying gravox is incredible or anything, but it's easier on the palate, bisto has a crazy strong taste, but maybe I should try the chicken one.

@j_edwards6075 yep, soon as they buy a Ram, they take it literally and try to ram you off the road with their giant Ute's, funny though, they still crumple like all other cars if you drive them like a BLOODY GREAT TOOL. Pineapple Fritter, take a can of Dole sliced Pineapple, dry it on a paper towel, then drop it in batter, like you would a banana fritter and then deep fry. Great with icecream.

With the Holden Maloo and other utes there's a couple of companies in the US I believe that you can take your imported RHD Holden to and they'll convert it using G8 equipment. They'll keep as much of it as original as possible as the HSV instrument cluster will fit into the LHD Holden/G8 dash panel and so on. Then they will certify it so it can be registered.

My wife and I have a Huntsman spider running around the house, and I'm telling my wife "It's harmless, it's harmless" as she sleeps in different rooms around the house every time she sees it. Then one morning, sitting on the loo this Huntsman decided to run around my backside and I s#^T. It was better than a whole box of Laxettes, and all that I was saying to myself over and over, "There harmless, there harmless" it didn't help.

It's not the voltage that kills you - it's the amperage. I had several shocks myself from 240 volts of AC mains when I was younger but survived because the currents were very low. My older brother did his apprenticeship as a fitter and turner at an electric power station and he got hit with a quick discharge (capacitive) shock of a quarter of a million volts AC when got too close to a generator. Got a real nasty burn but otherwise OK as the current he was electrically isolated from ground potential. This is why birds can sit on power lines and not get zapped. On the flip side, you can die from a shock from relatively low AC voltages if the current is right and you provide a suitable path to ground for the current to flow. For example, heart paralysis occurs at 4 amps AC, the so-called the death current, even if the voltage is only 50 volts.

The Ford F series has been sold in Australia before, all models from F100 to F350 were assembled locally until 1993, then from 2001 to 2006 the F250 & F350 were factory built in Right Hand Drive for Australia in Brazil. Both times they were popular, but Ford HQ didn't think they were popular enough to continue with and it was withdrawn from our market. This in turn meant that those early 2000's F trucks retained their value and are even now, when they are around 20 years old still sell for quite a bit on the 2nd hand market. Meanwhile, in the last 5 years, twin cab utes have become the most popular new vehicles on our roads & both the RAM 1500 & Silverado 1500 started to be sold here, both remanufactured in RHD, and this year, Ford have finally rejoined the party they left, back in 2006.
