I can't believe I haven't heard about this thing until now. I've never used EQ plugins separately of guitar sims, but with this one I managed to clean the signal just in 5 mins. Thanks for the review!

I have “mixed”(pun intended) feelings about ultra visual eq’s like this. It’s probably really great, i’m going to give it a try. I’m just afraid i might end up relying too much on my eyes, and to little on my ears, with all those fancy colours and visual effects.

Good call. I completely share your views. I know I advocated strongly for a "visual" EQ like this, and it is 100% something to be aware of! But the more I thought about it, the harder it was to accept hardware limitations that do not benefit mouse-users, which I terminally am. That being said, sometimes I bust out BlinfoldEQ or Eiosis Air EQ and mix with just my ears. I think the best thing is to know your frequencies by ear, and then it doesn't really matter what you're using. But dammit: sometimes you need a spectrum analyzer! Haha. To me goofing around with knobs is like driving a car looking only at the dashboard and pedals. With visual EQ I'm looking at those plus the road ahead. I listen with my ears and control with my eyes. The colors and effects just make it easier to grasp what you are doing. If I'm adjusting Q on a control I want to know how it is affecting neighboring bands. With an EQ like this it is immediately visible.

TDR Nova is free and also dynamic. What more do you want? Well maybe the ability to edit transients!

Glad you pointed out Nova, which was foremost in my mind when I wrote this. Nova is incredible -plus it offers dynamic EQ, as you point out -but it only has 4 filters. Which is fine, but I tend to only reach for Nova when I need dynamic EQ, not as a track EQ. That’s my take on it. Thanks so much for watching! Cheers!

@@palebluedotstudios NovaGE even has smart options like automatic resonance finder. it will find and cut bad resonant frequencies for you, just dial it back if it cuts too much. Makes cleaning sounds REALLY fast.

I actually can't seem to find the Dynamic function on the Ozone EQ (I've used the TDR Nova for years! love that one). Any help?

@@caspervanhelvoirt Ah yes: Ozone 11 EQ does not have a dynamic function. The unique feature it has is Transient/Sustain processing, plus Analog vs Digital and various filter types. Pardon me if I made it sound like it's dynamic!

This EQ is WAY hawtter than I thought!! Wow. I think we might be headed toward pro-audio internecene drama over knob emu plugins and digital EQs, after I've been playing with LUNA from UAD. Are you ready to struggle, or are you torn?

Please tell me, I don’t understand why there is a limiter slider with adjustments like on the compressor in the Dynamics (compressor) section? The compressor itself is clear what it does, but the limiter, if there is a maximizer and a vintage limiter in the line, what does it do and how obligatory is its use?

I'm not sure I fully understand your question(s), but the Limiter has a threshold where limiting will begin to be applied, much like a compressor. A limiter is basically a compressor with a very high ratio (usually 100:1, or higher) so it completely cuts off any peaks. A Maximizer is a limiter with automatic gain/loudness compensation. In terms of how obligatory they are, limiters/maximizers are crucial in mastering, or controlling dynamics like drums. However, you typically would not use a maximizer and a limiter at the same time. But sometimes I use two limiters with different settings to really control peaks to get a super-loud master, if that's what the client wants. Hope that helps? Does this equalizer have the option to disable spectrum analyzer? There was no such option in Ozone 9 Elements.

I just download it but it does nothing, the changes are so minimal you can’t even notch upwards to hear the frequencies that are boxing up I had to use a different one

Hmmm. Ozone EQ works in PT over here, on macOS Ventura. Maybe try Izotope support?

Yeah, I honestly can't think of one either, unless I'm missing something that's Windows-only. Of course Pro-Q and Kirschoff have more features,, but this is in the same league, for free! :)

Spectral display is not what i need.Ozon 11 is fantastic tool.But not chip.So they give you some EQ to make you spend for the rest.20 years ago you had one EQ and one compression on the table.And that time real music had a place on this planet.Nirvana was made with one EQ and one compression.@@SteliosMusic
