Thank you so much for this! It's beautiful 💜 People forget that Izzie was key in Alex becoming the man he is today. She believed in him when no one else did even when he was an ass to her. I am so happy they found their way back to each other :)

(Edit: sorry this is so long) The description is so true!!! Everyone always seems to point out the bad (in both Alex and Izzie’s relationship and Izzie in general, and all of that definitely came up way more after Alex left Jo because I think no one wanted to blame Alex because everyone loved Alex, so instead they blamed Izzie. Everyone seemed to suddenly start to despise Izzie and Izzex after Alex left Jo because I really think that no one wanted to blame Alex so they blamed her instead. It’s started to calm down a little (people don’t seem to be as crazy about it anymore, they seem to have started to realize that it was all Alex, not Izzie and that Izzie did nothing wrong in the situation and stuff, but anyways still) People seem to only remember the bad. Everyone says “Izzie was never there for Alex” and “Alex treated her so well and she treated him like crap” and “Izzie was so horrible to him” and “Izzie had nothing to do with who Alex became, it was all Jo and Meredith” etc. when that’s not true. Like first of all, Izzie was the first person to be there for Alex. Everyone else hated him, thought he was a horrible person. They hated him, didn’t want to give him a chance. Izzie gave him a chance and convinced everyone else to give him a chance. Izzie is the one who convinced Meredith that Alex wasn’t bad when you got to know him. Izzie is the one who said that he was actually a good guy. Izzie believed in him when no one else did. Alex literally plastered the walls with pictures of her in a bikini and made fun of her for it, and she still gave him a chance. He cheated on her, she still helped him study for his boards and gave him another chance. Second of all, Alex honestly was not always that amazing to her. I love them, but he treated her horribly sometimes. For example, I mean the whole doctor model thing (but they weren’t dating then but still) he cheated on her, etc.(but that’s not what I’m talking about) he was rude to her and took everything out on her when the whole Rebecca/Ava situation thingy happened and was so horrible to her, and when she got cancer it’s like okay during her whole cancer storyline Alex was either amazing or horrible, like there was no in between. He was either absolutely amazing or absolutely horrible. He avoided her all day before she had major brain surgery (and it was her first surgery) I get that he was scared and stuff and that he was there after, but still. And then he was amazing for a few episodes and they got married and he was amazing and she was asking him what he thought and he was amazing and like “you do what you want to do” but then as soon as she did what she wanted to do he lost it and (she ended up wanting the surgery herself but he was gonna make her have the surgery anyways like he was gonna force her but then she ended up wanting it but still like that’s horrible he was horrible in that situation again i get that he was scared but that was no excuse for that) and then his behavior when she couldn’t remember things after the surgery that he was gonna force her to have (and the memory thing was a known possible complication) he was HORRIBLE. Like he literally told her that 1. Marrying her was the worst thing that ever happened to him 2. That he only married her because he thought she was gonna die in less than a week 3. That he was trying to decide between smothering her with a pillow or shooting her up with an overdose of morphine was a better way to off her. Like wtf. But anyways yeah so Izzie is the main reason why Alex is the man that Alex is today

Her leaving was so out of character. I am so happy they got their happy ending and the children they dreamed of together. Thank you for making my request a reality! 😍🥰😘
