I would like to comment on the Kyoto Tachibana High School Symphonic Band. In Japan, elementary school is a 6-year system, junior high school is a 3-year system, and high school is a 3-year system. Therefore, high school students are between 16 and 18 years old. The new school term is in April. There are summer, winter, and spring breaks. Kyoto Tachibana High School requires students to commute to school from where they live with their parents. Therefore, students who have difficulty commuting to school must move with their parents or guardians to be closer to the school. School is in session six days a week (Saturday mornings only, Sundays are off), but the brass band is active seven days a week. From Monday to Friday, "morning practice" is held from 7:00 a.m. when the school opens until 8:30 a.m. when classes begin, and "independent practice" is held during lunch break. After classes are over, club activities start around 4:00 p.m. and continue until the school closes at 7:00 p.m. There are only three official days off for club activities throughout the year. Club activities are also held during spring, summer, and winter vacations. However, it seems that club activities are not held during exam periods, which is the students' main job. *As an outsider, I can only speculate, but there are approximately 330 days of club activities per year. Club activities are determined and supervised by students (3rd year students). The wind band advisor, marching coach, etc. only provide support, which is probably a major difference from other schools' wind bands. The students also play a central role in arranging music and creating drill sheets. First-year students learning the Tachibana style. Second-year students who aim to improve their individual skills. The third-year students teach the younger students. The above is a report from an outsider fan. I hope this will be of some help to you.

After checking, I noticed that the school system has changed on April 1, 2022. Classes are held only on weekdays, and Saturdays and Sundays are closed. Classes on Saturday were assigned to weekdays. Club activities on weekends are the same as on Sundays, and Saturdays are assumed to be leisurely activities from 9:00 to 19:00.

These are such beautiful young people. They are a reminder that beauty, grace, and harmonious power exist somewhere in the world. When these kids play, their smiles and their music can soften the hardest of hearts. What we don't see is the hard work, hours of practice, and their dedication to bring this for the world to see is something I for one appreciate more than I can ever say.

What a wonderful performance at least they did all the music and the dancing themselves. They did not have to bring their high school glee club nor bring their gymnastic team. Good job Tachibana. Keep it very Japanese. Simple but elegant.
Love this group, not a day goes by where I do not watch them. The melodies are in my head all the time. My favorite is SIng Sing Sing. We have nothing like this in the U.S. Looking forward to your next video!

Thank you for giving the battery (drums) some of the viewing time during Sing,Sing, Sing. It shows that not only is the band well prepared but that they are having a great time and it is infectious. God bless you all.

the best thing when we watch '300people' performance is because we can meet graduated class again... here we can see a lot of 114class percussionists and the other members incl. the drum major Ron....
Excellent video st.taketo, enjoyed it immensely. If this performance was done at a Major League game in the USA they would get a standing ovation with loud cheering!

Make magic!
Just noticed this! Is that "Tippi" from last years band sitting on the ground between the drummer and the large drums during the video scan of them at the 7:00 mark? Sure looks like her. She's toe tapping to the music she's all too familiar with. She's also visible at the 0.33 mark standing behind the platform holding the drum set ready to be pushed out. If it really is Tippi, it's a credit to her for becoming a KT volunteer in helping out on this big day for the 2018 3000 performance. She was a big hit in America with her always bright smile and exuberance demonstrated on what ever she played, from drums to tambourine. That's not to take anything away from other KT members, but that ever present smile of her's was catchy......it made you smile each time you saw her.

yes.. there're a lot of the class 114 members inc. Ron... one of the reason why we see the '3000-people' performance
@les24015 жыл бұрын
I didn't see Ron...I'll have to look more closely to see if I can find her. I did however, find the drummer, from the class, at the 6:54 mark, sitting in plaid slacks behind the drums lying on the ground. I never her her name but always admired he skill on the drums. I love watching KT performances in the 3000 and seeing them scoot to their field positions during changes in the program. Some have to really Run to their next spot!!!

I love Tachibana Green Band. I wish they would be invited to The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York city, I 'd brave the cold and the crowd to see them perform live.

Another marvelous job of filming 300 by st.tako! Thank you for this great work. KT is Outstanding! The Soloist's are Great, and the marching and playing is everything we've come to expect from this wonderful organization known at Tachibana High School music club. From here in America, I can't find anything more to say about this band, that hasn't been said before! It's great to see all the bands performing and helping citizens of Osaka put the tragedy of the earthquake behind them, as least for this Saturday!

Other then basic first performance jitters, I thought it was an excellent performance!!! The new male percussionist seemed a little unsure, he kept looking at the person next to him. I believe he will become more confident in time.

Nice video! wonderful performance !And lovely to see the 114th!
Thank you for the video. Joy to watch them. I’m wondering if there another video or angle of their formation. I see a little screen on how they formed up. Part of their charm is their formation and setup.
I know it might sound odd but please don't ever stop performing Sing Sing Sing and Fire Ball. Such a blast every time.

Me personally, I don't think I will ever get bored of it, and I don't think anyone can do it better than Tachibana. As I said above, it's just so much fun even though I know performing those songs are really physically demanding. I wish they keep performing 'It don't mean a thing' too, equally awesome as Singx3 and Fireball.

Thank you for the reply. I'm sorry, I had got misunderstanding what you said, because of my poor English skill. So, I got it and I agree with you.

That's alright my friend. Your English is not bad at all, just keep learning and getting better. I know the struggle because I am not a native English speaker myself. Are you Japanese? I am starting to learning Japanese and omg it is difficult but I won't give up :))
