I always thought marching bands were boring and brass music not my thing. Kyoto Tachibana changed all that! It's a whole new thing to enjoy now! I only like watching and hearing Tachibana to tell the truth. They completely amazed me when I first saw them and I now they are a part of my life! The music, dancing, smiles. They are a really bright ray of sunshine in this world. I really thank and appreciate them.
they say that the Japanese are the friendliest people on earth, if you see these musicians with beautiful smiles on their faces, you see that the Japanese saying the friendliest people is really true ... beautiful musicians are they, what beautiful music these people make ...... Japanese is a pretty proud people, and they can be sure, I am a real fan from the Netherlands of this Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band
KT SHS is the most, videoed and phothographed band in the world and the only one with a horde of paparazzi like followers at their wake every performance.
Chance upon KT only recently and have not stopped watching their performance. Wish to know them earlier but better late than never. From the comments , can understand their popularity. Great band !
I thought, when I first saw their post, that for a High School Band to get so much attention that they must be "pretty good". I was wrong, these students are masters of their craft. In my 70 + years I've never seen anything like what they do. They deserve every accolade given to them. What a joy to watch, I'm "hooked", well done, very well done indeed!
Gençler güzel, müzik güzel. Hepsi güleryüzlü. İnsan sevgisi yüreklerinde. Tebrikler japon gençlerine. I love kyoto. Beautiful. Very nice.

Yes.. Agree.. No matter that marching skills nor coordination nor skills in musical instruments are not the best. Many bands do a lot better. But for entertaining, this band must be on one of the top spot. Playing instrument when marching is difficult, but playing instrument when jumping around (sort of dancing) is just another whole new level. The sad thing is: all these kids have limited time after school, simply not enough time to polish every aspect for this kind of "marching" band.

@@himanchupokemon2958 Having own love is one thing (I like this KT band a lot), they giving us the best is one thing (And this is true), the best among the marching bands (need more objective evidence) is also another thing. We are all having good time when watching this band "marching", most of us appreciate what they did. No worry. :)

People have to remember that they were called "Orange devils" not because they are evil by any means, but because they are doing things that were absolutely terrifying for most wind instruments players, trained to the their physical limits, beating themselves up terribly while wearing a killer smile on their face when preforming.

There is an interview on an unofficial fansite with 6 of the 15 alumnae who went to the RoseParade this year as part of the composite Green Band. Of the six, one had had a broken ankle, one had knee surgery, and the third was benched for two weeks with shin splints (a sign of a potential stress fracture).. That is 50% and they all wanted to repeat the Rose Parade. (and they did the choreography, with attention to the fact that it had to been done by many without even a fraction of the Tachibana training)

I think they could relax a bit with the acrobatics, as the playing is already insanely perfect. on another note, the achievements of the girls seem to make half the national pride, they really deserve utter respect and good treatment, else what happens if they get fed up of the hard work? they are active on so many levels.

In other words, each should be able to graduate and have a good life without having got lasting health problems from heavy lifting and joints stress. Over the years, there are many thousands with skills and abilities higher than average. I think they will take quite a role in society. But same to the boys in these orchestras. They are important as well, though they are less present in sports. Boys playing in a mainly female orchestra, today are 100% legit, and their contributions and experiences are worthy also in their later lives.

@@neovxr They are trying to be competitive for the national championship, and they have not been qualified for it for a few years now.(Last national gold champion is 2015 BTW.) Partially I think their popularity and all the extra invitations from all over the country is kind of blocking their way though.
@TheSledgehammer2054 жыл бұрын
@@neovxr To be fair, it is no different to competitive sport at schools. From footage of games like volleyball or baseball which is highly competitive among schools, the likelihood of talent being found by the big leagues is quite slim, and being an extra-curricular sport club, those kids would have no academic merits to their grades. I would think many of those participating in sports may join a similar club at their college/university, but without anecdotal accounts (hopefully an English speaking Japanese reader here might enlighten us on post-high-school life as a college student in Japan, especially if they've been involved with sports as opposed to a marching band. I would think that sporting injuries may come at the same cost as the injuries sustained by the KT band kids according to James' explanation above, so it's par for the course. I find their sense of duty and loyalty to the group, to put on the show, is done without complaint until something breaks. Take that colour guard in the 2018 Rose Parade who was determined to participate despite carrying a back injury. I dread to think the types of spinal or back injuries they might invoke carrying such heavy instruments, especially on long parades such as the TOR.
Parabéns à todos envolvidos nessa e tantas outras apresentações. Gostaria de saber mais sobre essa maravilhosa Banda. Tipo: Como é o acesso a banda? Já falei anteriormente, respeitosamente, como é o dia à dia dos membros da banda. Acompanho sempre. Parabéns.

I think every certain time they scream for reasons, not only for performance demand. From the perspective of medicine, it helps to release their breath that has constantly been hold back. Does my opinion stand? ^o^
