Thank you for the video. I have just purchased the 510. I am a Zen teacher and host hybrid meetings with zoom and in-house participants (a medium size hall that sits about 10 people with 1.5 metre spacing. I use a lap top for the zoom. Will the 510 microphone be able to pick up all the participants in the hall? I appreciate your time, thank you, Andrew

one issue I found on 510 is when the meeting room have low ceiling and the person is too loud. The peak volume limiter will max out and 'mute out', resulting of loss speech.

Great Videos on your channel! Do you have any recommendation for Microphone which can be linked for better room coverage? The Jabra Speak 750 is only capable to link one additional Speak 750. But I need at least 3 together.

I am also looking for a better 3 or more wireless speakerphone device . I have duo Jabra speaker 510 for extension. I used to have sennheiser teamconnect wireless. However it is no longer manufactured. Any advice for an equivalent solution.

Hi Kevin, I would like to better understand your use case. Please share meeting platform (ie. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, Google Meet, etc). What are you connecting to? Are you looking for just audio or do you need video? What size room/meeting space? How many total people in the room/space? Is everyone participating? Or are you just listening? How is the room configured, in terms of furniture? The more info, the better we can help.

No. You need to buy the Jabra Link 370 and you can use it to pair any bt devices.

Any suggestions on what a church group can use in a 15x15 conference room where some people may be almost 8 feet from the speaker. We dont have a zoom account. We would just use a free conference call number.

I find it interesting that the wireless connection sounded more clear. I think they should Eq some of the low end out of the wired. Maybe add a little bit to the highs.

Hi, I have just bought one of these to alert me that my mobile phone is ringing when I am not near my mobile. It seems to work well for this purpose but this morning I noticed that it had switched itself off overnight (no lights visible) which is not ideal. Any idea why this would be? Does the unit switch itself off if there are no paired bluetooth devices in range? Thanks.

Hi @stinger2k2! I've submitted your comment/question directly to Jabra as I can not locate any mention of "sleep mode" in the Jabra Speak 510 User Guide or FAQ section of Jabra Support. Thanks for watching and submitting your question! I'll share their response once I receive it!

Hi @stinger2k2! Here is Jabra's response. The Jabra Speak 510 has a battery save feature that powers down after 15 minutes if there is no active connection, 60 minutes if there is an active connection but no activity. Jabra added: I suppose if someone really wanted to they could play some kind of low white noise or something to keep it active, but it really is designed more for on demand calls. From what I can tell, what is happening is the first thing that you point out. That is, the 510 is powering down 15 mins after all bluetooth connections cease. However I have had it stay on all day without activity as long as my mobile phone is connected via Bluetooth. Many thanks for following up with this. Now I know, I can get around this issue and still make good use of the device.

@@CallOneInc thanks! I want a better quality sounding speaker phone to make calls from my iPhone. Was going to stick the jabra speak on my kitchen table and plug it into electrical outlet for power. Then connect via Bluetooth to my iPhone.

I was provided this device by my employer and honestly don't understand it's use case. I take work calls directly on my laptop and find it very convenient to do so. What is the benefit of taking/making calls on this unit vs your phone or laptop? As far as music, this speaker is marginally better than than my laptop speakers.

Hi @shobuddy! Great question! Some laptops and mobile devices have low quality audio output/input in which case an external USB/Bluetooth speakerphone like the Jabra Speak 510 may provide improved audio quality. Especially with the transmit (microphone/ audio input) quality (how your voice sounds to your callers). However, you bring up an excellent video comparison idea. Jabra Speak 510 vs Laptop Speakers/Mic vs Mobile Speakers/Mic. The Jabra Speak 510 may provide Remote Call Control depending on the voice/video collaboration platform or applications you are using. Meaning you can answer/end calls from the Speak 510. If you received the 510+ model, you have the option of using it wirelessly with your laptop by pairing 510 to the dongle connected to your laptop. I think it's pretty cool your company provided these for you. Some organizations only provide low-cost USB corded headsets or ask employees to get their own equipment. I'm curious, what UC platforms are you using? Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco, Avaya, RingCentral, other?

@@CallOneInc Thanks for the reply. I use MS Teams and find it a competent product. I received the Jabra 510 well over a year ago and had it sitting unopened in the closet. My personal desktop speakers went out last week so I started using the 510 as my speaker and it did the trick as a fill-in but I definitely needed a 2.1 speaker setup back as I previously had so I picked up the Logitech Z623 yesterday and am pretty pleased so far.

Hi nicolas, can you please provide more details? If you are asking if the Jabra dongle impacts existing connected devices via Bluetooth, the answer is no. The dongle is designed to pair with Jabra audio devices. Your Bluetooth keyboard and mouse should not be impacted.

Hi Hanggan! Here is response from Jabra Tech Support: I'm not clear on the question. Link 370 usb dongle is supported method to connect Speak 510 wirelessly to a computer. The dongle provides a reliable usb audio path, like the usb cord on the Speak. Pairing to native BT on any computer running a full operating system (o/s) has been found to be unreliable for communication audio; audio requiring microphone use.

Here's how you pair a mobile phone to a Jabra Speak 510: Pairing Instructions Activate Bluetooth on your phone: Go to your phone's Settings and locate the Bluetooth option. Enable Bluetooth if it's not already on. Enter pairing mode on the Jabra Speak 510: Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the Jabra Speak 510 for about 2 seconds until the Bluetooth light flashes blue. Search for devices on your phone: On your phone, within the Bluetooth settings, start scanning for available Bluetooth devices. Select the Jabra Speak 510: Your phone should find the Jabra Speak 510 in the list of available devices. Select "Jabra Speak 510" from the list. Enter PIN if needed: If your phone prompts you for a PIN, enter "0000" (four zeros). You're Connected! Once the pairing process is complete, the Bluetooth light on your Jabra Speak 510 should become solid blue. @@CallOneInc Thanks. I have an isolated case. The person that I am talking with is using a Generic Bluetooth Speakerphone bought from China and I am using a mobile phone or laptop (internal mics/speakers). She can hear me properly from that Bluetooth Speaker. If there's an overlapping in our conversation, I won't be able to hear her first or last words then it will resume only thereafter. She can completely hear me in each word that I say. Is there an issue with her Bluetooth Speaker? Does it mean it is Half Duplex only? How about Jabra 510? Have you tried to converse with someone? Did you experience the same?

@@dtgallardo I have used the Speak 510 extensively. It is not full duplex so yes, if both parties speak simultaneously, there will be some clipping of audio. Only a handful of personal speakerphones provide full duplex. However, it’s a better experience when both parties have speakerphones with full duplex.
