Stellar, Trivial to Use, Sounds Great from Both Ends.
I couldn't be happier with this. It is extremely easy to use. You just turn it on, it immediately tells you to go to your phone settings for Bluetooth, and select it, and then it just remembers. The buttons easily work as you would expect, and the visual display for things like power, bluetooth connection work well. Just remember to hold for 2 seconds for power or to re-pair bluetooth because it saves you from accidentally touching them. Most importantly, I think it sounds great from both ends. Listing from the Jabra end sounded as good as any speakerphone that I've ever used. Listening from the other end (talking to someone else using the Jabra speakerphone) couldn't even tell they were on speakerphone. I thought it actually sounded better in person than it comes across in the video. The case is a nice touch to help tote it too. I never got any echo at all from either end. I really couldn't be happier.
I can hardly find anything not to like. I don't understand the battery level status when I press the battery button. And I might have preferred if the USB cable end had a notched area in the bottom plastic to hold it rather than just squeezing it slightly in the gap. But really, that's it. This is a no-brainer recommendation for me.

We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzfaq.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

Thanks :) . I am personally using mine daily and nearly all day at this time due to the work-from-home order in my area starting March 2020 due to the pandemic. I'm really glad I have mine. The quality is much better than my MacBook speakers, and easier to visually mute and adjust volume. The only thing is while connected via USB connection, I have unplug & replug it in after the computer goes to sleep so that it picks it as default so I don't have to poke around in audio sources. That is more a MacBook thing, not the speaker.

I'm glad to hear you found it helpful. I've actually used it daily working from home since March 2020 and likely into January 2022 at this rate, and has been much better than my computer speakers. I especially like that I can more easily mute and unmute than with on-screen icons. I do a lot of Google Meet meetings :) . I just plug it in via USB so I don't ever have to charge it. My only complaint has less to do with the fault of the speaker itself... when my Macbook goes to sleep and wakes back up, I have to unplug & re-plug in the USB connection for the audio to wake up. You can manually turn on the speaker, but the Macbook doesn't seem to send audio to it, even if I select it in volume settings. No big deal. I'm used to just reconnecting it when I sit down. And I suspect that would be any plug-in USB speaker.

I am a little hard of hearing and generally have my iPhone speakerphone on Max when taking speakerphone calls... it is a little 'weak' volume-wise for me..... so, am wondering if this Jabra Speak 510 has greater volume to aid with hearing. Looking for higher volume than my iPhone can muster. Thanks.
@reviewsbytiger
@reviewsbytiger Жыл бұрын
It isn't a loud speaker, but I think it is a littler louder than the max setting on my iPhone XS Max. I operate it always at 75% volume (by the on-speaker controls and lighted dots indicating volume). Once in a rare while I raise it if the volume on my call is soft. It is pretty standard to any conference room speaker. I think it is clearer, and the mic is better for others to hear me. And I like the handy mute/unmute and visual indicator. But it can't seem to be pushed to any excruciating volume that someone might shout to tell me to turn it down. So if you are looking for something that can really crank, this probably isn't that. But if you want the same experience anyone would have in a conference room at any major tech company, this would be it. Co workers wonder if I just took one from a room sometimes when they see what I have.

@@reviewsbytiger thanks for the quick reply! Much appreciated..... I often hold my iPhone 13 Pro Max up to my ear to hear a little better. I ordered this unit based upon your excellent video review, so am hoping that the quality of sound, and perhaps a little boost to the volume vs my iPhone will make for a better speakerphone experience. Guess I will give it a try.... and if it is marginally better, I can always return it to Amazon. Thanks again.

Hi, are you still active on this video? I have connected my iPhone, it shows it is connected, but how do I switch the audio to the phone?
@reviewsbytiger
@reviewsbytiger 5 жыл бұрын
I don't understand your question. It works like any Bluetooth speaker. If your phone has Bluetooth on, and if you pair this speaker and that phone, it should be connected and all speaker & mic should go through it. To make it go back to just the phone, turn off Bluetooth on your phone or turn off the speaker. There is nothing unique to the setup for this particular speaker.

How close does the speaker have to be to the Jabra when speaking into it, for an online audience?
@reviewsbytiger
@reviewsbytiger 2 жыл бұрын
This is the kind often used in small conference rooms for people at a table that you would find in rooms of any tech company for some people in a room and some remote. I don't speak right into it, and it sits to my side. It should pick up anyone around a table it is centered on. I don't think it is meant to pick up from walking anywhere in a big room. Its background noise cancellation might cancel you out at that point too :) .

Hi, can it pair to a laptop to function as a speaker + Mic for video skyping?
@reviewsbytiger
@reviewsbytiger 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can connect via Bluetooth to a laptop or phone (as long as each has Bluetooth), or you can connect it by a USB cable (which it also uses to charge). I personally use it with my MacBook daily for work among the COVID-19 pandemic. I find the audio quality better, and I like the easy volume and mute controls. Because I use it all the time, I just connect it to my MacBook using a little USB type A (usual rectangle) to USB type C (rounded) converter. I personally have used it for Google Meet / Hangouts, Zoom, and other regular audio. I am assuming Skype would work too because I cannot imagine why it would be any different. You might have to click on your sound icon and select different input & output sources if it doesn't switch automatically.

Can bluetooth be disabled? what is the difference with the 510+?
@reviewsbytiger
@reviewsbytiger 3 жыл бұрын
Bluetooth can be disabled by pressing the bluetooth button. For example, if you pair it with your phone, but don't want it connecting all the time. I personally use it connected via USB to my macbook most of the time. I'm not familiar with the 510+.

Yes, it can be connected wirelessly by Bluetooth if your desktop supports Bluetooth, or via USB (and then it stays charged too). I personally use mine every day with my Macbook Pro, connected via USB using a USB A to USB C connector. I like it so much more than the built-in mic and speakers. I also like that I can mute the mic more easily.

how about using usb connect to laptop?
@reviewsbytiger
@reviewsbytiger 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it works with a computer through USB. I use this at work with my MacBook Pro, with a USB A to USB C adapter and it works automatically. It is really convenient to pull out for an impromptu urgent call with someone in a noisy area that is hard to hear over a cell phone on speakerphone. During an outage, I've pulled it out to talk with a remote expert while we were huddled at a desk. I also use it when I work from home for all web meetings with my laptop.

I didn't know XBox supported external USB speaker & mic or by bluetooth. I would have expected XBox to be a more locked down system. I think the speaker is most generally expected to work with general Windows/Mac/iOS/Android devices that broadly support USB or Bluetooth speakers/mics.
