@@quincycroft3323 I was curious as well. I think what was meant was that Will (Nicholson) uttered such a nonsense comment to show that Stuart's (Spader) concerns were completely irrelevent to him by that point, though I've read the comments about odor, which makes at least as much sense. Could have been ad-libbed! Thoughts?

He still played this part perfectly. He's not a mature guy with a deft touch while he screws people over. He's young, ruthlessly ambitious, and has no scruples. But he's also a coward and his manipulations are obvious and clumsy. He's the type of guy who would've gotten better at it with age.

I have not seen this movie, but from this scene alone, I have to imagine that Jack Nicholson’s character did some evil shit, then started drinking a gallon of water just to be able to pee an unreasonable amount and on this guy’s shoes?
@bierwolf8360 Жыл бұрын
Nope. Nicholson starts out as extremly timid in the movie. He's an editor about to be laid off. That other guy was his protegé but stabbed him in the back, snatching his job. That other guy even slept with Nicholson's character's wife. Nicholson, however, also got attacked by a wolf at the start of the film, becoming a werewolf. It's not really a gorey movie and largely is about Nicholson becoming more wolf-like (assertive, ruthless) in everyday life. This bathroom scene comes after Nicholson had threatend his boss to start a rivaling publishing company (stealing all his customers) unless given his job back and with more power. Michelle Pfeiffer is also in the movie, as the daughter of the boss and Nicholson's love interest. Finally, asparagus.

@@godisbollocks The culprit for that unique urine smell from eating asparagus is asparagusic acid, which contains sulfur-containing compounds. About 20% to 50% of the population experiences the smell. But there's some controversy about the percentage range; not the range itself but the underlying cause of the smell. Some say that 20% to 50% of the population PRODUCE smelly urine as a result of their genetic makeup when they eat asparagus, while others say that 20% to 50% have the special capability to DETECT the smell. You'd think by now that science would have a definitive answer to what those percentages really mean. But no.
