If I have to be 100% honest, I have to say that the Italian version of this movie is not so charming. Lyrics are completely unpoetic, often meaningless, with big and frequent grammar mistakes. Last but not least, even if I really like the singer, I think he's not much fitting for the character.
Then why did you translate this song?
1. Because TNBC is one of my favourite animation movies and Jack one of my favourite characters
2. Because, even if I think he doesn't fit much, I can't ignore the fact that Renato Zero is one of the few Italian singers I really appreciate.

quando si tratta di tradurre non un monologo ma una canzone, è inevitabile dover stravolgere alcune parti della stessa per adattarle alla musica e far risultare il tutto orecchiabile; ha poco senso lamentarsi della traduzione in questo senso. Tenendo in mente ciò, è vero che il testo originale sia più poetico, malinconico e "dannato", ma l'interpretazione di Zero è magistrale ed ha più pathos di quella di Elfman. In conclusione per me hanno fatto un grandissimo lavoro

I'm learning italian and when I heard the chorus I told myself I have to learn this song in italiaaaan 🧡 I loooove it, his voice is so good and I think it fits really well with the character 🧡 thank you for uploading it~ it helps me to practice

comunque vada, io preferisco il testo italiano. perchè rispetto agli altri ultimi testi degli adattamenti, questo non ha rime scontate, rispetta anche i suoi originali. sebbene svaia dall'originale preferisco quello italiano poi è chiaro, a ognuno la sua

Devo dire che la versione italiana mi piace molto non tanto per il testo (che preferisco in originale) quanto per il suono. Non sono mai stata una grande fan di Renato Zero, eppure musicalmente parlando adoro la versione italiana di questo brano, sia per la voce che per la musicalità del testo che sì, purtroppo risente di tante cose (grammatica, sincronismi labiali, etc.). Ad ogni modo complimenti per la traduzione :3 Se posso chiedere, di dove sei?

+Wolfy Chan Ti ringrazio :3 Personalmente, adoro Renato Zero, e nei panni di Jack lo preferisco di gran lunga a Danny Elfman, non perché mi piaccia già di per sé, ma perché è stato uno dei pochi doppiatori di Jack a capire bene il personaggio, mentre Danny Elfman ha fatto un lavoro eccezionale scrivendo musiche e testi, ma tenerlo per cantare, a parer mio è stato un errore... Stendendo un velo pietoso sui testi italiani del film, io in generale non trovo i testi inglesi dei film disney particolarmente scintillanti, ma i testi di NBC sono senza ombra di dubbio i miei preferiti, tra quelli inglesi. Ciò non toglie che nemmeno Danny Elfman e i suoi geniali testi siano riusciti a spodestare Philippe Videcoq, tuttora mio adattatore di testi preferito in ambito disney tra le 3 lingue che capisco a sufficienza da poterne valutare i testi (italiano, inglese e francese), che con la versione francese di questo film ha raggiunto il suo apice di bellezza

Accidenti questa canzone mi risulta che l'ha adattata Carla vistarini (con le altre di jack), le altre tipo this is halloween è di ermavilo, ecco perché questa è così astratta e le altre più terra terra... mi chiedo perché on realtà abbiano deciso di non far adattare tutto ad uno solo anche solo per coerenza

It seems like they repeated the chorus instead of translating new words? On top of your other complaints. I hope it sounds more natural to a native speaker than the direct translation does.

A lot of the translated songs are different cause if we had to stay true to the original in English they wouldn't sound that good. So yea this is definitely more natural

Because the translation here is actually very bad. They misplaced some words, forgot some question marks and etc. To be fair, the Italian test of this song is quite more medieval or at least ancient. So it seems like Jack's singing in a lyiric Italian (which can also be cool since he cite Shakespeare and is an old skeleton). But the translation here didn't give much of the atmosphere, just translate badly word-by-word.

@@thatitalianlameguy2235 using the definition someone else gave: it sounds as though they randomly picked out loosely themed words out of a hat and pasted them together with a few monosyllabic words such as "you, us, then, I" to fill-in the gaps. The result is lyrics that make little to no sense at all and are outright _ugly_ to listen to (not to mention that in this specific song they didn't even bother writing two different refrains and simply blindly copy-pasted the first one)

In italiano se si andava a tradurre letteralmente il testo in inglese, molte parti suonavano male. Per me renato ha fatto un ottimo lavoro, sia nella parte letterale, sia in quella musicale.
