Awesome video, thank you. I think this is along the right lines. The Mary Jane Kelly murder has always been a sticking point for me. It is just a different person who did it. The murder is so different. It has more in common with a Thames Torso Murder (never caught that person either) than a Jack the Ripper murder. I think that the press had a lot to do with the myth around Jack the Ripper and you are probably right, connected different murders to link them together to sell papers.

@@OwenNeidhart regarding board games there are two good Jack the Ripper games. Whitehall Mystery. You either play as Jack the Ripper dropping off body parts or the police trying to catch him. It is a hidden movement game like Scotland Yard. Letters from Whitechapel is the other one, which I have not played, which takes Whitehall Mystery and makes it slightly more in depth and therefore complicated. A really good games about being a serial killer (that sounds terrible) is The Bloody Inn. Where you run a 19th century French hotel and you can choose to kill your guests for money (or get them to help you commit murder).

That was far more eye opening than I thought it was going to be. I thought you were simply going to name a single suspect, but I think you're right that the media created the persona of Jack the Ripper. I think the quality of your content is way above the subscriber count you should have. Would you consider reaching out and having sunrise /sunset (England / Australia) joint video with The House of Lechmere channel? You both have the same high quality research, the same facts-based outlook. I think it would be both an entertaining and informative show. I posted on a comment on his channel. I hope you take this as intended - to help both channels and give us entertainment and food for thought. I'm not trying to spam your channel with Lechmere content.

Great series of videos and you make some very important points abour there being more before and after " The 5" . I feel that the police called an end to JTR after the five because of panic and the press hype to stop more of the public from take things into vigilante situation causing more violence and covering there inability to catch the perpetrator . In the comments I see someone suggested you do a video with Mr Stow from The House of Lechmere which I think would be good and also may be Richard Jones from The Ripper Tour channel

The idea of more violence happening was a big issue for sure. I do believe that's why the police shut it down as soon as they could. I'd be happy to do something with either of the people you mentioned. If I can work something out I will, and I'm quite interested in what might come of it. Thanks for enjoying the videos.

The WhiteChapel killer and JTR weren’t synonymous. We agree on that. But only looking at five victims and ignoring the other murders opens the door to inaccurate conclusions or worse, wild accusations. You clearly come from points of logic and reason and your presentation is brilliant! Great video as always!

Great series. Idk if you're interested in the "ax man" murders throughout America from around 1910 to 1912, then it picks up again after the war? Fascinating just to study. Also in New Orleans around that time.

You are right about one thing. There was no such person as Jack the Ripper. He is a phantom that the media created to explain a series of awful events, and which we have nurtured ever since. However there was almost certainly a serial killer operating in the Whitechapel area at the time, and that man was almost certainly responsible for canonical five murders, and possibly others. While murders with knives are commonplace, knife murders where teh throat is cut are very rare. Murders where the bodies are mutilated are exceptionally rare, even among serial killers. This is a serial killer with a very distinctive calling card. I don't think that it is far fetched to think that he could have used more than one knife. I also don't put much stock in analysis of whether he was left or right handed, because you can never be sure whether the stab wound was inflicted from in front or behind. While the Mary Kelly murder represents a significant change in the killers MO, it is a very plausible one. The killer had already been interrupted twice, and there was a massive increase in police presence on the streets after the double event. It must also be noted that it rained heavily the night of the Mary Kelly murder, and this would have driven the prostitutes off the streets, and into the pubs. While I can imagine that somebody else might have murdered Mary Kelly, and tried to make it look like the Ripper, I doubt that they would have spent two hours dissecting her body in detail, as it is estimated that the killer did. I think that this represent our killer taking his fantasies to their dreadful ultimate conclusion.

Great vid, I've always had sympathy for the view there may have been more than one killer or a copycat. The latter would be a bit of a coincidence considering the mutilation fetish, but there have been cases of 2 killers working together in the past. Also I think Liz stride and Mary Kelly Kelly are not exactly canonical. Then again sometimes I have the opposite view, that's what is is quite fascinating to me about this case, the constant assessment and reassessment. 3:48 3:48

Gr8 Stuff, Owen....Nailing your colours to the mast, but U didn't really do that, with an overview of the Media, Police and interactions with the Locals during that time in London's History...Well, the East End History, I suppose, eh Owen......I notice U did come back to Thomas Cutbush a number of times and to me, he is most-likely to have done a number of the murders, but as U said, probably not all 5....Many people think the Police knew who JTR was, but didn't commit to a Statement about the case...Sir Melville did his Memoranda that I found out was inter-office and not released to the newspapers...None of the Investigators ever nailed their colours to the mast and why it is still a cold case or unsolved case, 136 years on....The people that believe Aaron Kosminksi was JTR because he was identified by Israel Schwartz, who wudn't testify against him because he was a fellow Jew...Well, Lipsky was supposed to have been shouted at Israel from Liz Strides likely assailant, but wud he shout Lipsky at Israel or wud a local English Protestant or Catholic, eh Owen...That murder cannot be attributed to JTR in my opinion, as she wasn't strangled or slashed across the throat twice or mutilated, which didn't take long to do...Louis Diemschitz was there a fair while after the Schwartz Sighting of the killer and the killer had plenty of time to do his stuff....He didn't, so unlikely it was JTR IMHO, eh Owen.😀

I agree with U that there were sooo many suspicious people in Whitechapel before during and after the JTR Murders, that one person cud not have done it all and lived a normal life, Owen...That's why I don't think Charles Lechmere or Fred Deeming or Jacob Levy or Joseph Barnett or George Chapman or Carl Feigenbaum or William Bury or any of the plethora of suspects out there, cud have done the JTR Murders, other than Robert Donston Stephenson, Francis Thompson and Thomas Cutbush......Hope U have some really good ones coming-up, but 2 me the 3 I've mentioned are likely to have committed 4 of the 5 murders. Liz Stride, I don't think it was related to the JTR murders and I agree all the JTR letters are most-likely hoaxes or fake, Owen...Look forward to your next suspect, Owen and thanks for posting your thoughts on it all, but I didn't hear U say what your clues or hints were during the series...Straight over my head no doubt, eh Owen....Cheers fm Damo.😀

Hi Damo, I really do appreciate your comment. The problem with this video was that is wasn't a satisfactory solution. It's why I held back in doing this one. But it is the Pub Test.. I'm open to other ideas. I'm still not done, and I may change my view. You are right about the memoranda, it wasn't released publicly, which is also of interest. ( Was he protecting Superindendant Cutbush? ) This series isn't finished and I've benefited from views so I hope you keep them coming.

@damianbowyer2018 Ай бұрын
@@OwenNeidhart Thanks Owen...Yep, I believe the Macnaghten Memonanda, was to calm the farm as U said....I found some info that Superintendent Cutbush may have covered up 4 his Nephew in 1888, as the PC who checked-out Thomas' Room, found a lot of evidence that made him highly-likely to have done some of the crimes...That PC was apparently bewildered as to why the evidence was not followed-up and likely went to The Sun Newspaper and told them what he knew...That may have been the reason they published it and accused Super Cutbush to have covered-up for Thomas. Sir Melville didn't go public just an inter-office memoranda, but Super Cutbush retired almost immediately and as U have said, killed himself 2 years later. Apparently, he did it with a gun shot to the head in front of his daughter who had lived with Thomas and her sister, Thomas' Mum...I think there is a very good chance Thomas did the last two murders...Francis Thompson or RDS the first 2 and Liz Stride, cud have been a disgruntled customer of Liz, eh Owen....🤔
