Just found your channel a few months ago and wow its so amazing what you’ve achieved. As a professional rigger for the movie biz I can tell you that your rope twisting like that means its breaking down internally. I’d recommend replacing it before it fails on you. Ropes break down in climates like yours much faster. Be safe and take pride in what you’ve accomplished

Really? It is not old rope - Steve just bought it last fall and it’s Marmot climbing rope (so expensive stuff). Interesting though. Hmmmm.

@@michygoss7148 Marmot makes some quality lines for sure, but all that moisture is gonna expedite the end for sure. Anytime we have lines out for a few months we store the excess in plastic bags when not in use. You can tell a lot about a rope by how it coils or doesn’t. Look into Marine Grade or Polyethylene ropes.

First words I would say.... Framing Square!!! I must admit I was saying no, no no to the double joist on the wall, lol. You can bring the exterior material down to the deck, use flashing and keep it up a,half inch or so. You can foil tape the edges of foam etc... Anyway just some ideas..... food for thought.

You have done an amazing job on the cabin. I helped my father build an A-frame on the side of a mountain in the late 1970s. He had just finished the roof - lighting hit it. Fortunately the fire was contained. It was a hard hit, mentally and physically exhausting, but he saw it through. You will prevail 🙂

Always amazed at each progression. Enjoyed the first few minutes as it summed up everything for me. You are simply amazing in every aspect and I think people should also keep in mind that you are also your own film crew. I am sure you could be further along without setting up the videos / editing / posting. But to me, every thing you have done so far is very inspiring and capturing and sharing your experiences / dreams / struggles / achievements will help many people... Wow. Way to go woman! I know what making a deck is. I did mine when I had my house in 2 days for a 4th of July weekend party. My wife and freinds had a deck built for the occasion because I had to leave for NC. So they enjoyed it first! Yours is coming along awesomely! Stay strong and focus on your vision. Way to go Michy, that should make it easier to get around. They make a metal flashing they use for transition from masonry to siding. That metal would be prefect for at the bottom run that around holding it of the deck, all the way around. Then put your foam over it then your siding. That way too , it will give a finished edge that won't be seen, and it would make it very difficult for critters to chew through. Have a good week and God bless amen. 🙂👍❤️‍🔥🕊🕊🕊🌿🌿🌿

That's an insane view you have! Wish I could be there...! I ENVY YOU. It's great watching your videos and how you think things through and your problem solving on the cabin and deck. My advice is take your time and dont cut corners to save time think of the safety factor and whats the safest way to accomplish things because injury or death is not a good outcome. Enjoy the moment and the time during your build. When it's all done you'll love what you've accomplished, but we all say to ourselves, I wish I would have done this or that but, in the end you wouldn't change a thing because whatever little imperfections you may see, no one else will, and those are the things that give your cabin character! Wish you the Best to a woman with so much self esteem, confidence, and determination in what she wants and sets her mind too! "Great Job" Richard

I can picture you in your 90's on a cable trolley converted electric bicycle going up and down the sky mule to get to your hot tub on a cliff. :) You are doing great! In spite of how you feel right now, for us outside looking in, this is a really big project in a very difficult spot with hand tools only, by someone who is not a pro, or 20 years old (absolutely NO insult meant), but yet you persist because you're Canadian (therefore not a quitter), determined, and I promise when its all done, and you're sitting in it with your hubby, sipping something relaxing and watching that sun set (or rise, whatever applies), you will be perfectly justified in giving yourself that hugh pat on the back that you've earned in every respect.

A little bit more and you'll be ready to enjoy your labor. 😉 Keep it going, but don't forget to ensure your safety and avoid unnecessary injuries, because it's not fun at all. I had a minor mishap last year and I almost broken my knee, now it's working and is not brokeen, but I've lost the entire summer, being unable to work.. Cheers, take care about everything. I recommend you making a fence asap, before something goes south, or in your case it would be east... 👍
