Those knives looked amazing. I love handmade stuff like that. I'm sure those chickens were more expensive because they're not mass-produced like conventional chickens. True free-range chickens are very expensive. Looked like a very cool place!

Jack, I live in northern Indiana amongst a large Amish population. You haven't had pie till you have a rhubarb custard or sugar cream pie baked by the Amish. My Grandmother was Mennonite and spoke Dutch fluently. I treasure all her old recipes. You need to get invited to an Amish barn raising, it's a feast beyond belief.

This brings back memories. I used to live where Simpson, Allen and Warren counties all met up. Went to this auction a number of times. Makes me want to go back for a visit that 1st Saturday in April.

That is very cool. My grandmother used to have the Milkfarm that was in Scottsville Kentucky where you were at I am well familiar with the Amish out that way. I am glad to see that you and everyone that was with you had such a great time. And the Amish have so many things to offer.

Just got back from the 2022 auction. Scored a lightly used one man crosscut saw and 8 chickens.

This is a barely a mile from where I grew up at. Even when I was a kid, it was ALWAYS this packed.

Its a great life to learn and know all those skills the Amish do. They are truly people who can live off grid.

Enjoyed this video, seeing some of the sights from my former home in Kentucky. I had 2 farms one near Scottsville and the other near Tompkinsville. The guy who made the knives was from Tomkinsvile. I wish ya had checked out some of the machinery. Gave ya a thumbs up!

I love auctions! I have attended well over 1000 auctions of all sorts in my life. In 1982 I attended and graduated from Nashville School of Auctioneering, but I have never done a whole lot with my training besides helping do some charity auctions and working as a ring man at a few small livestock auctions. Auctions can be addictive, so be careful!

The Scottsville group are Old Order Mennonites, I use to live there in the community. There are some Amish further over near Tobacco Rd. Was you near Perry Town Rd.?

When I lived in Pennsylvania I used to go to this place in New Jersey and the Amish people made everything the one thing I can say is they're very talented they know how to make money they're not greedy and they stick together and break their ass...Some of the young ladies I would love to ask out but I know what the answer would be they stick with the wrong kind after watching some of the videos I don't understand how they can push away the own family... they seem like people from the 19 hundreds and they really don't want to change....I'm cool with them now that I'm in Florida that's one thing you don't see down here but when I go to Pennsylvania I check out the place that has and sells everything they sure know how to cook...Still want to date one...lol...😍😍😍😍

We have two of these every saturday in the spring here in Lancaster County, PA. They call them mud sales, because they have them rain or shine, and a lot of time it rains.

even if its just for auction its still cruel to keep them so cramped like that for hours... And free range doesnt mean "outside" everyday. They have to be outside so many hours of their life to be classed as free range which isnt much. They are probably cramped when kept inside as they dont seem to care at the auction about them being cramped. Shame. And no im not hating lol.
