Also pro tip. Don't sprint. There's a reason you can't toggle it unless you switch the settings. Especially when it comes to cats, running = instant attack instead of being stalked, but there are many things you can run into that'll make you wish you walked. Lol.

I just started playing 2 days ago. The best things ive learned so far is meat/bone soups and using coconut bowls for them. You get all nutrients you need if you just go eat some bananas/fruits/lotta mushrooms. Then, build the axe and stone spear asap. Coconut bidon as well. I carry 2.

Looks and plays great on Series S. Getting my ass kicked by snakes, leeches, worms and thirst. Oh, and spiders, bees, fevers, jaguars, food poisoning and thrust.

I just drop all the coconut bowls around my base and they fill up super quick. Thirst is never a problem now. Also, first time I saw a jaguar I speared it once and it died. They're nothing to worry about like snakes or spiders

With the white mushrooms, just boil them in a pot or coconut dish and they absolutely will not harm you. Or you can put them on the dryer and dry them out. Completely edible but only these 2 ways. The blue mushrooms that grow on the really huge trees are like Red Bull energy drinks lol.

Tips 1. Make sure you always have bandages 2. water carrier coconut + rope 3. save can of food for emergencies 4. Painkillers are Lifesavers Clean Water + bone cooked

@@vincef1118 lol that was a week ago. Now I'm on day 11 I think playing survival. I've gotten this game down. I've had severe food poisoning, jaguar attacks AND native attacks. Bit by spiders, and snakes too. Lol but I still survived :D this game has got to be the most in depth survival game ever :D

For people trying to saved(need to build a place to sleep) or craft items. Actually go to your notebook and go to the item you will like to craft and scroll over the item and press square and then place the item on the ground and then find all the requirements to build the select item and placed on the the item.

Only tip ill give is: don't run around like a adhd child and play the game like it's an actual simulator. Whatever you would think of doing if it was you in that situation, you can probably do it in the game too

I think The Long Dark is more difficult, as you start losing heat in the snow right away, when you spawn in. You are usually underdressed. and there is nothing telling you which way to go in the mountains. The wind snow if your unlucky reduces your visiblity greatly. Though no wolves or bears spawn until 1 full day of survival has gone by, I guess thats something.

Reloaded the savegame that you get after the intro and there were no stones, not a single one. Was looking everywhere in a one mile radius. Wtf?

So what you wanna do is look at the limb it's on and use a bone needle to pick it out. Then put a bandage over it, any works

Fish bone or harvest animal bone for needles. Look at your body then open backpack and insert needle then wrap with bandage or a honey bandage

Great tips but tip 1 for day 33 should be how to make a little tool or axe or whatever. Running around with this piece of obsidian like an idiot. Also the obsidian wasn't in the square door cave just an iron vein

Build a roof for the dryer, instead of a shelter. You can save at the roof and dry your food.

Go to your notebook and click on and set the plan down on the ground and just fill it in with small sticks and regular sticks. Same with anything that has to do with building shelters and beds etc etc. but the other stuff like aces and spears you can make in hand

When I drop the cocounut in the water I cant pick them up again unless i remove the water. Any tip? I have restarted the game 6 times now because I cant find enough water

Drop the halves on the ground to collect rain. Build a bidon using 1 coconut and 1 rope. You can gather river water with that. You’ll then want to put a coconut shell on your fire, add river water from your bidon to purify it, you can also add meat to it to make a soup.

Amazing game but honestly I play on king of the jungle difficulty and you can survive quite easily without worrying about such things as when you harvest birds, in fact I would reccomend you harvest any animal that ends up in your inventory so you cut down on the weight.

This is a fun game on console but laggy when interacting and jump mechanics are crap on console. Why do devs work it out that people can't lift there feet 3 inches off the ground either? Good game but needs work to play smooth then it'll be a blast.

I play a ton of this on my Switch and though to make it work optimally they had to lower the eye candy, it's still incredibly beautiful and immersive, and I've yet to have a single issue with the game. Other than dying. A lot. 😆
