I was after an explorer or sub (no date) for ages but so glad I got this instead. I can still have a Seiko for a beater or the beach but this gets most of the wear and I love it. Paid less for a new Reverso duoface and a new Seiko spb213 than a new sub (if you could even get one at rrp). Much happier.

@@manuel_winde Perhaps you can add the explorer or sub into your collection anyway at some future point especially if where you got the Reverso also carries Rolex😊👍🏻 In any case, yes the Reverso is an absolutely spectacular piece!

@@time2watch-18 I don’t think there’s 20% on JLC at the minute let alone Rolex. I’m done with Rolex anyway to be honest, have owned a few and like them for what they are but they’re overpriced at RRP to me now, let alone secondary prices. Na I will go Tudor bb58 and Reverso for the perfect 2 watch collection (as soon as Tudor update the clasp😁).

Great review and video. Thanks for that. I am struggling which watch I will choose. This Reverso in the video or the Cartier Tank Must XL. The Reverso is much more expensive but that aside I am not sure which watch is better on my wrist. I like both watches. I have a 8" wrist and size large looked big and high on my wrist. The Tank Must XL is a bit wider and lower so that is a little bit more pleasing for my eye, but maybe I have to try them once more. I have to try the Reverso in size medium as well so maybe that would be my choice. Difficult to feel what I really want and block the rationale voices in my head. 🙂

I chose the Reverso. Exactly the type from the video. I do not regret it. ALso getting another Reverso, with Date.

The XL Carrier wears a lot larger than the large Reverso Duo, I own both and they wear different on my wrist. One thing to keep in mind is that the Cartier can be had on a bracelet. Or just do what I did and get both 😊

Yesterday I bought mine Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic Large Duoface. Over the moon with this watch. Very happy! ;-)

The travel time adjustment is backwards. Most need the night/day indicator in the home side. Not the travel side. The button should advance the light side.

Always liked the Reverso but I already own a Cartier Tank, not sure if I should add another rectangular watch to the collection…. But it appears the Reverso is more sporty and could possibly be used daily?

I have tried on the current Cartier Tank and in my opinion, the Reverso is more comfortable on wrist due to the shape of the case back. And yes I do think the Reverso can be a daily wear because of the somewhat casual/sporty look it exudes too😁

Love the Reverso. Though my preference would be Monoface medium and in quartz. To get this watch serviced is $1000, which personally I think is crazy - But who am I to talk? I'm struggling to buy a Seiko spb 143. Enjoy your Reverso, it's such a beautiful watch. If I could get any watch in the world, it would be a Reverso.

But at the same time, JLC gives you a VERY generous 8 -year warranty. So, send the watch back for check ups before the warranty expires and, with good care (and luck), you can enjoy it at least 15 years without contemplating any service.

Yeah servicing cost is definitely a valid concern. Guess I’ll have to save up for that along the way too😅

I’m not sure the service cost is that high to be honest. Even direct at JLC I think it is cheaper but other good watchmakers can service it if need be. ps If you want an SPB213 at a good price let me know 👍🏼(or look on the Christopher Ward forum sales corner)

I own this timepiece and while beautiful, I don't understand the function of the "travel time" day/night indicator. Is that to let the wearer know if it's day/night while away or back at home? If I want to keep time, say, of someone in another time zone, would I set the "travel time" day/night to their day or evening? Weird to me.

Yes I agree, the jumping hour function should be on the white dial side instead of the black (which has the day/night indicator).
