Sixt in The Netherlands has new rental Jaguars! The first time I get to try the 2020 version of the Jaguar I-Pace that I've used so much in the past.I've been to Zeeland in the south of The Netherlands with my family for the weekend and now, it's time for some fast charging!If you have never heard about the "warnblinker" "bug" or the "alarmlights unlocking 100kW" on the Jaguar I-Pace, then this is the time to pay attention.
For reasons only known to Jaguar one can unlock faster charging speeds (also on EV400 models from 2018 and so on) if you enable the alarmlights on the vehicle -before- you initiate a fast charging session.I'm trying to prove what cannot be proven when you have only one vehicle available, but it was the best I could do right now.
I hope you like the results, and do try this at home! If you don't believe me, just try it for yourself, charge without alarmlights and see if you hit 100kW, it probably drops due to throttling (like in this video), then restart the session but before you do so, turn the alarmlights on.
