Roschino's Coffee Thanks for the info. I don't mind the noise of the fans because my car is usually running when the lights are on and I chose them because they do a better job of dissipating heat. The Philips units are good, but be careful the heat from the heat sync doesn't make the wiring in your headlight brittle. The conduit breaks off the wires and eventually you get electrical issues. Happened to my Audi. I had rewire the headlights entirely :-(

For the headlights you won't need a canbus decoder. The indicators need transistors, but you can do a straight led conversion on the headlights without worries. Just make sure you order the correct adapter rings for the low beams otherwise they won't fit. The bulbs I bought with the little fans have proven to be brighter and more reliable than the others.

Hey Huor, I hope I can answer your questions to your satisfaction: 1 - My XF was a Premium Luxury but had halogen low and hi. Xenons were an option on both Luxury and Premium Luxury. If you check the back of your headlight where the low beam is and there is no Xenon transformer box (large silver looking thing attached to the underside of the headlamp), then you have Xenons and need to use D1S bulbs. If you have a Xenon low beam, you can't convert to LED. 2 - Our cars use 55 watt bulbs for headlamps, never go higher than that otherwise you are essentially draining the battery while driving with them on. LED lights are usually 35W but put our more light and these actually save your battery from working too hard. 4 - No need to set anything after changing to LED bulbs, just plug and play. 3 - I did indeed have an error when changing the indicator bulbs to LED - check out this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nquRnd2W1NWbnmQ.html. Don't even waste your money on so-called canbus error free bulbs, I bought 16 bulbs and none of them worked. Basically, if you have H7 low beams and H7 High beams, you can change both to LED (just make sure you buy the correct collar for the low beam and the correct collar for the high beam - they are different). If you have Xenon low beams, then you can only upgrade your high beams to LED using the collar adapter for high beams. Hope this helps ;-)

Hey Kamal, in my video I showed several LED bulbs that I'd bought to try out on the car. I ended up using the Cree one's because the S7 had dispersed light. In later videos, I show how and why I changed to CREE. The LED bulbs with the little fans perform much better than those with the heat syncs at the back. Don't buy them, either with heat sync or with the braided heat sync. They are rubbish. Only purchase those with the fans and don't worry about fan failure, mine lasted for years after fitment and were still working when I sold the car just fine. They are rated for 50,000 hours of use which is a long time.

@@carfanfan I got the Cree bulbs but am unable to find the right clips to adopt to the Jaguar headlight fittings. I found several types of adaptor clips on “wish.com” labeled from L01 upto L19, they also put down the makes of the car against the L number but Nothing for Jaguars. Perhaps you can recommend the correct type. I did also connect to the eBay link you had suggested for the right clip, but it is not pulling up the correct website. Thank you for your help and assistance.

Hey Marius. 55w is what the factory use on their halogen so it's fine. As long as you don't gi above that. Most LED bulbs are around 35w, not sure what yours are. But they should work fine. The fan operated bulbs are best as they don't just cool the bulb but get some of that hot air out the housing. They are becoming ever more popular nowadays too. 😉

You gotta remove the headlight to change any bulb on it. Are upu referring to the side marker or the park light bulb between the low and high beam

Nope. You must buy the adjustment rings for the bulbs too. The reason for this is that the OEM bulb connector has a square base and LED replacement bulbs have a circular base. The converter rings allow you to twist the LED bulbs into the headlight tabs.

Hey there, you need a standard LED adapter. It looks similar to your OEM one but has a round hole instead of a square hole where the Halogen plug usually fits. Your LED bulb will fit into the new adapter and the square plug will plug into the LED bulb's wiring loom. It's H7

Hey Bruce, nope, sorry. Those are for the high beams. The low beams have higher collars/clips to fit the hooks on the housing.

Depends what headlights you have. If they are xenon hid headlights, then yes, you need the xenon bulbs (D1S) and if it's halogen, then H7 bulbs. If you have halogen, then convert to H7 LED bulbs like I did.

MH30R Hey there, not yet but I have done a yes drive and they are definitely better than the halogens. They show up like xenon's, just better because the road lines glow against the super white light of the lights. Contrary to what some have said, these project the same beam as the factory halogens and don't dazzle other drivers. I haven't had anyone flash me so that's also a good sign. The high beams are amazing and I can see up to two km's in the distance on a totally dark highway. I'll do a follow up video on their performance. ;-)

I confirm that my high beams are also a significant improvement over the stock halogens. I could not believe the distance and penetration on a long straight unlit road. I would say at least 1 km by counting the side posts which are 100 meters apart. I did not do a before and after video which I regret now as it would have made a convincing video and a good case for doing this mod.

Unfortunately you can install LED bubls in the xenon D2S or D3S housings. You would have to replace the whole headlight - but honestly, I would stick with the stock xenons or upgrade the xenons to more powerful bulbs to around 8000k. I hope this helps ;-)

Bulb power is defined in Watts (i.e. current times voltage). It is not defined by colour temperature which is measured in degrees Kelvin. The human eye is adapted well to the yellow end of the spectrum and not as receptive at the blue end of the spectrum. So for the same power (35 Watts) a 3500K bulb may look like more illumination than a 6000K bulb. But the 3500K will look yellow~ish and the 6000K will be white with a bluish hue. I have HID in my XF (low beam only) and for that reason I have only done the LED conversion in the high beams (replacing standard halogen H7). To do the low beam in LED would need more than just a headlamp housing, the electric harness is different as well and may need some different fuses. So, I agree with Hilton that if you have HID and they are working, keep them. They are bright and a well designed light. I have posted photos of my LED High Beam conversion in Jaguar Forums.

Hey Harry - sorry for the confusion - I replaced the high beams with the fan-type I used on the low beams as they were far superior than heat sync LED's. I used CREE bulbs eventually on all four lights, low beam and high beam and they are awesome! Hey Paul - it's probably the little pump that's faulty. Your washer bottle is situated in the right front wheel arch - if you remove the fender liner, you can see it. There are two pumps attached it to - one for the windshield and one under the bottle for the headlights. If the lines are broken, then all your washer fluid will drain out when you fill it. My XFR's pump doesn't work and I don't bother with it because I never use headlight washers. But it can only be the lines or the pump. If the lines are broken, then you would need to remove the bumper to see where the break is.

I'm afraid you're wrong. If a car has projector lenses, no matter what bulb inside, you can upgrade to LED without affecting the beam pattern. I've done this to many cars and the beam pattern was unaffected. Only brightness was affected. That doesn't mean they won't dazzle oncoming traffic though as a brighter bulb with the correct beam pattern can still dazzle oncoming traffic.

H7 will fit if you have the correct adapter. However, it isn't necessary to have such a high wattage. 35w per bulb should be more than sufficient. Mine were 35w each and they were super bright - higher wattage will just make your alternator work harder and the bulbs themselves will create too much heat inside the headlight and make the wiring conduit brittle.

@@artlo4133 Hey Art, as far as I know, all F-Pace and Jaguar XF II are fitted with the same headlights. Exact same headlights. They come with either Xenons (which are poor as I've discovered with my new XF) or the LED headlights which are full LED and have nice turn signals. You have two options, replace the Xenon setup with standard LEDs or replace the entire headlights with the LED headlight option. Actually you can. The retainer clips for the LED bulbs will be different but it definitely can be done. My XFR had xenon and I changed the bulbs on that car. If memory serves they were D3S equivalent LED bulbs. The ballast just gets unplugged and left insitu.

I did show how to change that little bulb in one of my head light videos. I think it was the side marker video. Because I spliced my side markers into that little bulb holder that holds the bulb you're referring to. I changed mine to led as well but they kept failing which was annoying. They are T10 bulbs and don't affect the canbus at all.
