Its about time Jaguar came out with a diesel! This time we take a OM606 with a 722.6 transmission. Tune them up with a 7.7mm mechanical injection pump, an Ofgear transmission controller and add it all to an 1969 Jaguar XJ6

I'm laughing because I never thought to look on KZfaq to see if anyone else had done this swap. Recently pulled a 71 xj6 without an engine or trans out of a barn in Montana. Purchased an om606T from New Jersey yesterday! Only thing different is im planning on a manual trans.

Nice project! . I drove the excact type of Jaguar as a wedding car on my sisters wedding and was impressed how smooth it drove. I like the idea of putting a turbo diesel in this car. Too bad that dieseI fuel is so expensive these days.

Very cool video, thanks. Congratulations on getting the 606 to run so smoothly on your DIY STD 7.7 pump, very impressive. I watched all your videos on building your test stand when they first came out and was hoping you'd follow up by testing the pump on an engine. Good job! I'm in Maine, Winter is on it's just just like you. Hope you can all your preparations done and hunker for a relaxing winter. Ross

thanks Ross, yeah that "pump fix" really came full circle when i got to test run it like this, so it feels good. Its a bit to early to say weither the pump works just fine, but all in all it seems to work so far. I got a five hour ride from the arctic circle, its not snowing here, but freezing temperatures at night now, and winter is coming.

Mycket intressant och inspirerande! Jag har en xj6a från 73 med trasig motor i. Har faktiskt tittat lite på att konvertera till en merca diesel också! Din kanal har ju onekligen bidragit till en del inspiration till dom motorerna. Kul sammanträffande! Bra jobbat och ser fram emot fortsättningen 👍👍

Hej Rikard, tackar. Jag har varit lite nervös för vad eventuella originalfanatiker skall säga, men än så länge har ingen sån sett videon verkar det som. Skulle du ändå tänka dig att fortsätta med orginalmotor i din 73a är motorpaketet från denna jaguar till salu, finns på blocket.se

@@Foffe2000 sånt ska man inte bry sig om! Det viktigaste är att man har kul med sina projekt! Jag rev faktiskt ner min orginal 4,2 l motor och tänkte renovera den först. Men jag landade i att det kostar för mycket och i ärlighetens namn så har xk motorn några brister som alltid kommer att kvarstå. Sen surplar dom ju i sig rätt mycket bränsle med. Snygga att se på annars 🙂 Nej, jag gillar verkligen din ide med om606 👍👍

Hey, thanks for asking. I rarely do any work in the wintertime since i am usually outdoors, and in sweden.. event tought sunnyer this mont its still -20 celcius at night and lots of snow .. so the jaguar project will have to rest for a couple of more months. Stay tuned.

Great video. How did the propshaft survive a test drive if you didn't weld it? Wouldn't it just slip internally?

i did pressfit it into place in a hydraulic press, so i think it held on somewhat , due to that

do you know if it is possible to get a higher amp alternator in the om603. I want to replace my 70 amp for a 90 to 110 amp. I replaced my viscous fan for a pair of electric fans. so I need more amps to run them. any ideas what I can use. thank you.

I think a mercedes turbo diesel would be good in that body jag.
