Thanks Cullen, the engine (or more exactly the engines starter) worked before i changed out the flywheel, And this newly bought flywheel is sold so it also can be used on the petrol M113 and M104 engines, and therefore there are a triggerwheel in front of the starter-wheel (for the petrol engines ingnition) and my problem is that the ball-bearing that follows along the gear you measured to 27,5mm hits this triggerwheel. So i should try a starter from a W124 300E for example, but im still pussled that none of my three starters would work since all of them are different in some way.. is there really a fourth version that fits the om603 block AND got a shaft so long it can pass the triggerwheel and engage the starter wheel without interference?

@@Foffe2000 That might be your solution to go with a starter that is designed for the gas engines. Unfortunately I don't have any starters left from a M103 that I had before. Also in the US all the cars I have dealt with are automatic. I have actually never seen a manual flywheel for those cars. I guess if you can't find the correct starter to clear the trigger wheel you might have to pull the transmission off and remove clutch and flywheel and than machine the flywheel to accept the diesel starter. Also gas engine starters are usually less powerful than diesel engine starters due to lower compression.

@@cullenmiller8170 yeah, i might have to machine this one. But i will research and hope to find a starter that works first hand since that will be alot less amount of work. I dont know about manual transmissions on the M103 & M114 either, but this flywheel are tenaci aftermarket one with Sachs 765 pressure plate and sinter 6-puck clutch. So it might be for the ones who want to use those petrol engines in some home build and not a combination that mercedes ever had themself.

@@Foffe2000 You need to buy my 1995 S350 Turbo Diesel. I have it up for sale for $4000.00. My neck and back are to messed up and I have to stop having old cars. I'm parting out my 1992 300SD turbo diesel and my 1997 S420 LWB.

@@cullenmiller8170 sorry to hear that you still got problems with the back and neck. As you might see on the videos i got a few mercedes cars to thats waiting to be parted out. Just try to sell them all in America and bring in some cash you can put forward to getting better in the back and neck

okey, i have gotten great support from the supplier (speeding) and have turned down the planetary gear on the starter from about 54mm to 48mm with good result. There will be a video on that soon (got problem with getting the turbo to spool up so i am attending that problem in the same video)

Huga, vilket klater, Men hur kan det fungera på M113 M104 motorerna då? Känns som det måste vara en startmotor som sitter med ungefär samma avstånd från startkransen och som ändå går fri förbi triggerkransen på dessa? För dom motorerna passar detta Tenaci svänghjul också på, och där kan man ju inte gärna fräsa/svarva bort trigger kransen.
