Agreed.. a very likeable character. There's a little tiredness showing & a weeks holiday in the sun would be very helpful in his campaign.

This was a great effort. He raced in LA, went back to Flag and did a hard session at 7k, then back here to race. After all that he still ran a PB and, maybe more importantly, got his Olympic standard. He may be a little disappointed but I’d venture to guess his dad is pretty pleased. Great job Jake! Good luck at your trials, can’t wait to see to see you on the line in Paris.

Jake will be very much a medal threat if the 1500m is a slow tactical affair. Clocked a 1m 44 800 recently, true closing speed.

surely jakob won't make it slow

@@TomPorter After two previous world's I'm not sure Jakob wants to take it out and make it a true test of stamina, I think its a conundrum for him tbh

Spent all my savings on tickets for ATH10 at Paris Olympics purely to support this man. I know he can win.

3:47.83 at 29 years and 10 months. Well done! It is in fact an absolute age world record. Laban Rotich did 3:47.65 at 28 years and 5 months, and Andres Manuel Diaz did 3:48.38 at 31 years and 11 months.

I still think the result will be much different in a couple of months.

Jake is a great guy But, let's be realistic---Jakob has SO MUCH TOP TIER training in his body since early teens& as you can see, even w injury & lost blocks of training--1st race out...... still,he's only 1 step off the win---opening w a 3:45 mile....... personally I think the writing is on the wall. Jakob won 10 ,kerr 2 + 1 more now----so Jakob once he's 100% ----forget it none of you guys are in his class --only way to beat him is if he's sick, recovering, falls or has a really bad day. Just the facts.
