The fact that American people believe that Trump will have the power to do so is horrifying. All the US can do is withdraw aid. Not a god damn thing else. Hi Jake. I'm British and I've followed your channel for a while now. I was absolutely gutted to hear about Petes death. He was a true hero in every sense. A man prepared to sacrifice himself for a country and all the people in it. And then you have Trump. A man prepared to sacrifice a country and all the people in it to save his political career. Peter was a true supporter of Ukraine. When he made his videos about aid being delayed he made me realise how ashamed we should be that we in the West aren’t doing nearly enough to support Ukraine. Because if our leaders showed even a tenth of the courage that Peter did this war would be closer to ending. And maybe Peter would be still alive if Ukraine had everything they needed from the start of this damn war.

Individual Americans are free to send whatever money they can to help Ukraine buy weapons, and they are also free to buy an "assault weapon" and go fight for Ukraine if it's that important to them. @@hgv1883Well Russia thought that, anyway... I had a feeling Ukraine would put up more of a fight than they did before during the Crimea annexation. I was still (pleasantly) surprised at just how much of a fight they've been putting up, but I knew from the outset that it wouldn't be over as quickly as Putin presumed it'd be.

I came accross the story of Pete though your channel and then started to realise how many foreigners have joined to help Ukraine . ditto. I am daily contact with friends in Ukraine. They are aware of these heroes - some of these heroes are women too by the way. Ukrainian women show their love for people with food - whilst alive these heroes would find food lovingly prepared for them in every home in the country.

Pete was a miracle! A deeply caring, compassionate man who lived his truth; he was a selfless advocate for Ukraine and its people. There was no vanity or deception about him, he was truly an inspiration. .. and he made all of us better for having known him. Viewing his heartfelt impassioned pleas from thousands of miles away he inspired us to do better. Please honor him by supporting his mission!

Jake, it was heart wrenching to hear about Pete's death yesterday 💔! So very sad 😔. Pete's not just a Fallen Soldier but was an inspiration to many viewers here, and those that he worked with in Ukraine ❤. The amount of people Pete managed to rescue and aid to get to hospitals or their much needed medical aid was outstanding 💙. AND when you did your recent fundraising, I believe Pete's Team was one of those inspirational causes those donations went to 😃. I remember quite a number of his involved videos: Pete will be heavily missed. My condolences go to everyone who knew him, his family, and even to every Ukrainian who were blessed by his presence 🙏 . As an outside observer, I think Americans have had a high degree of democracy and freedom so long that they take it for granted and forget that it is fragile and precious and needs to be protected. The greatest threat to truth, justice and the American way now comes from within American politics. Issues like abortion, gun rights, immigration, culture wars pale into insignificance in comparison to this threat. If you don't have democracy and instead live in an autocracy, you have no say on your government's policy on such matters and your dictator also won't care what you think about them.

Most Americans are spoiled rotten and don't realize how rich we really are. Every American should travel to poor aka 3rd world countries to understand how even our homeless people live better lives than a large percentage of the rest of world. People in America put too much stock on "them versus us" instead of how much we should be helping our fellow man.

That is probably the case for a lot of Americans, but there is also almost half of the population that does not believe in the system and either vote for any kind of change or skip voting at all. But looking at it from my vantage point in Europe I sort of feel the same. With a president instigating riots and uprising in a way that reminds of the Nazis rise to power in the 1930s it is unbelievable that americans are willing to vote for the Trump authoritarian aspirations.

Hmmm ... During 1940 around 40% of Americans did not want to provide Britain and the Dominions (Canada, Australia, New Zealand & Sth Africa) with arms or even food and oil for "that European War". FDR had to wait until a new House and Senate could sit in 1941 to pass Lend-Lease, which was highly contentious - and at that time a majority of Americans still wanted to keep the US Army out of "that war". As a consequence, young Americans who wanted to fight went to Canada and enlisted. If the Japanese had not bombed Pearl Harbour, America would never have joined "that war". And for 8 months MAGA refused a vote on aid to Ukraine - October to May, and 40% of Americans were happy about that. If America had threatened Germany & Austria with the threat of its entry to WW1, then WW1 would never have happened. There would never have been a USSR either. Maybe Americans dont run when they start - the problem is that they take a long time to get to the starting line.

It’ll likely take a heroic effort to turn things around but South Africa produces its fair share of heroes. Pete was one of them.
