Neither eagles or dallas even belonged in postseason. East should've put the giants in, at least they showed heart. I couldn't even get happy about eagles losing, dallas got smacked worse. It's unfortunate that the Eagles organization has had a lot of great defensive-minded coaches come through over the years who never really had the time/personnel to show what they could do. Bowles, McDermott... even Spagnuolo was on Andy's staff for like a decade. Good to see them doing well elsewhere, but damn.

The worst part is even though they stunk down the stretch and became the 5 seed,, I think they actually got on paper anyway,,the easiest first round NFC opponent,,,The Rams where looking real good down the stretch,,and the Packers looked like a team finding its mojo the last 3 weeks of the year.. Lions are a tough team and Dallas was supposed to be good..I’d argue they are still better than the Bucs

I think Sirianni needs to go. Keep Stoutland and Clay and purge the rest. Actually, the first thing that needs to happen is Lurie needs to understand he's the guy who writes the checks and doesn't know anything about football and stop being a stealthy Jerry Jones. Howie needs to understand that this a new NFL where it's morphed (and will continue to) into the Arena League and flag football and that means that you NEED good LBs and DBs and when a good one is sitting on the board in the 1st or 2nd round that it's OK to draft him. Back on point, I think Sirianni has lost the players and they don't have confidence in him and what he's doing. You can see it with their body language on the field. They have doubts about what they're being told to do on the field. Plus, Sirianni seems to stubborn to change and he has no answers when it comes to righting the ship. Jalen needs good coaches and a good scheme for him to be good. He had it last year and this year he regressed. He can't carry the team on his back. He's not that type of QB. He needs help, the right help. Give him that and he can be good enough to captain a SB contender. The offensive scheme enhanced all his flaws instead of his strengths. What an implosion this was. Clean house.

They had one of the best offensive lines in football. The run game was their identity last year and the coaches went completely away from it. The whole coaching staff needs to go. Howie might have to go as well.

why would Howie go when you just said they had the best OL in football? Howie made that happen, along with a top 3 WR room, a top 5 TE, a D Line group like we had AND a QB capable of playing like Jalen did last year. It ain't Howie running this scrub offense, it ain't Howie telling Nolan Smith and Reddick to drop back into coverage, it ain't Howie forcing screens behind the LOS to fuckin Quez and Kenny, that, Nick, Brian, Sean and Matt. They deserve to go, Howie gave them the tools to win and they pissed it away.

Seth, I couldn't agree more. Although I'm a steelers fan, it seems to be displaying it more and more in the game. I respected you insight and the way you played the game. It just seems to be a lack football iq and the desire to compete. As a life long Pennsylvanian, I root for both in-state teams and just can't fathom how they slid so far in the past 6 weeks. This needed to happen. This team went through an epic collapse and there needs to be people who are held accountable. Thankfully, that will be addressed now. Gonna be a long off-season and probably another couple years before we can start thinking about getting back to the Super Bowl. But at the very least, we can start that process now instead of lying to ourselves about this team being able to turn it around. Just gotta hope they make the right choices.

Your way of thinking is the problem. It was never a collapse. The luck ran out. They never beat Washington, Giants, KC, Miami... those teams beat themselves. They Dallas too. They all dropped passes. Eagles had nothing to do with the outcome of those games. Those teams beat themselves. Eagles are a 6 win team. They were never good, ain't no collapse. They were never what you thought. People that know sports know this. Only the Eagles fans thought they won those games, no, the other team lost them. You didn't win.

@@trutru9018 You don't go 10-1 in the NFL by sheer luck or by accident. That doesn't happen. If it did, this type of COLLAPSE would happen much more often. They were coming off a SUPER BOWL appearance and barely lost any key pieces aside from TJ and Seumalo, while ADDING Jalen Carter, Sydney, Nolan, Byard, Swift, etc. The roster was just as good, if not better than the Super Bowl roster. They regressed from going from a Super Bowl appearance and starting 10-1 the following season, to out in the Wild Card Round. That's a COLLAPSE. People that know football know this. They weren't playing perfect football over the 10-1 stretch, there's no doubt about that, but we had multiple players stepping up and making plays in key moments. Hurts, AJ, DeVonta, Swift, the entire O-line, Carter, Davis, Sweat, Williams, Cox, BG, Slay...they were ALL making big plays over that 10-1 start. For whatever reason, that totally stopped post-49ers. The players looked disinterested and frustrated and it showed on the field. They clearly weren't playing as well as they did to start which lead to them losing to inferior teams and overall losing 6 outta their last 7. That's regression. That's a FULL-BLOWN COLLAPSE. People who know football know this.

The way the Eagles played it genuinely seems like that defense was in a full on rebellion against the coaching staff (mostly Patricia id assume) that level of just not tackling cant be anything other than an FU to their DC and possibly head coach

I don't know what to think about Hurts but he's clearly shown he can operate very well under a good system. And like Seth said, he has been constantly put in positions to not succeed. Long developing plays, not having answers for blitzes. Hurts cannot do everything by himself and i think he just checked out. Shouldn't have, but this is how bad the coaching has been.

I really hate to say I told you all so but go back to week 3-10 postgame: I kept saying every single game something isn’t right with this team, and the way they were winning wasn’t sustainable but that stupid 10 and 1 record blinded you all. I wish bills made that catch in ot and win the way the cowboys and many others should’ve beat us. Thats 10 and 1 record was worst thing that could happen to this team. They lost sb bc of defense and the arrogance to not sure it up was pure stupidity. 30th ranked defense after a sb is unacceptable. Cowboys lost yesterday and that couldn’t even motivate this team? Something is veryyyyyy wrong with this team and changes need to be made. And I kept saying this all year, the worst part is the nfl is WIDEEEEEEE open. Anyone could win! Just an average defense and this could’ve been our year, but no, you give Jalen that stupid contract instead of suring up the defense. I love Jalen and his “nothing phases me” attitude but he showed no heart no leadership no guts the last 7 weeks. He played putrid, and I honestly think he is over the coaching the staff and the play calling. Brian Johnson and whoever called plays this season need to go. It was horrible. Every single week just horrible play calling. And I’m telling you all, that defense majority black players didn’t like Sean desai being scapegoated. The defense is shit because of Howie not desai. Every week you all screaming fire Johnson fire Johnson, no fire HOWIE! this defense was atrocious and has been for last 20 years. Eagles good offense with average to horrible pass defense every single year for as long as I can remember in 30 years. They refuse to address this defense for 20 years. As much as I’d like to see Siriani have a chance to actually coach next year, I think Mike Vrabel would be exactly what this team needs. Not sure how he’d mesh with Laurie, but he would make the team play tough, run the ball, and get the most from his QB.

I've been an Eagles fan my entire conscious life, when I was about 12, I got the Vikings/Chiefs Superbowl Electric Football game for Xmas, and immediately painted the Viking Helmets and jerseys kelly green with Testers model paint. This has been the most painful season in my memory which includes a lot of painful seasons with Rich Kotite, the Swamp Fox and others. I am 100% in for a coaching purge of Siriani and his entire staff. Put the world's worst defense out there First? And then PASS pass pass? Defenders missing 5 or 6 tackles one after another and bumping into each other in the secondary? This is the first time in my life I have actually wanted a massive purge...it's been Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!
