manu was a big reason the lakers dynasty ended..he was the one that rick fox got hurt guarding and his 03 series vs la was the first time casual fans saw the nba 22 year old rookie that torched the euroleague for years on end who was drafted 58th back in 1999 and he killed them with his euro steps passing slashing and iq..he was unpredictable and savy and lefty...never forget his game 6 in la to end phil Jackson shaq and kobes bulls and warriors type strangle hold on the nba ...the dude had no fear...he was a new b wave of euro toughness and skill and fun..a ball of energy..as barkley always since day 1 screamed ..ginobili!!!...well done sir..made me love his style...so unique a werling ball of energy force of wind like a swiling durvish

The most memorable Manu moments for me were in Game 5 of the 2005 WC semi-Finals against the SuperSonics. Manu scores 39 points against Ray Allen and the Sonics to lead the Spurs to victory. In 2010 against the Denver Nuggets Manu scores the game winner then draws the charge on what would have been Carmelo's game winner to seal the win. Then in 2007 game 5 of the infamous 2nd round match against the Suns, when the Suns were without Boris and Stoudemire and they were up for the majority of the game up until the 4th quarter when Manu took over scoring 15 points and leading the Spurs to a victory. Also the 24 straight points against the Atlanta Hawks back in 2007. And the dunk on Yao. And the block on Garnett, Wade and Durant. And the 46 points against Lebron and the Cavaliers, followed by 44 points against the Timberwolves two games later. There are so many of them that when you start thinking about it some of them come back that you completely missed or forgot. Then it makes you wonder that whoever thinks Manu only has a 20% chance of making the HOF must eat shit as a regular diet.

What about the 27 points in the game 4 of the 2007 finals against Lebron's Cleveland sealing the championship? Or the 48 he dropped on the Suns in 2005 with one of the most outrageous dunk I've ever seen (on Marion). There's a long list of highlights for this legend, a lot more. That 20 percent is hilarious. Oh, and go check the winning percentage of Manu in NBA. HOF is an understatement.

My favorite NBA player..He was so entertaining to watch, amazing competitor, humble. I always thought he was underrated because he came of the bench. Ginobili on any other team would've averaged 20 + ppg easily and more all star appearances, but he sacrificed coming off the bench for the good of the team. Not many players with that talent would accept that role.
@koubl
@koubl 5 жыл бұрын
All these doubts about him not making the HoF. This guy was one of the greatest competitors the game has seen and so fun to watch. Also unique in the way he did WHATEVER the team needed. How is this even a question? Just look at the love he gets from fellow players and coaches around the league.

I love Beadle! Manu is definitely a Hall of Famer. He is one of only two players in basketball history, along with Bill Bradley, to win the EuroLeague, an Olympic gold medal, and an NBA Championship ring. He is also the first non-U.S. player to win both the NBA championship ring and the Olympic gold medal, and the second Latin American to be selected to play in an NBA All-Star game (after Panama's Rolando Blackman). 4 time NBA champ, 2 time all star, 2 time All NBA third team, 2 time EuroLeague MVP, 2 time EuroLeague Champ.

2014 Spurs maybe my favorite NBA team ever. I'm from Cleveland by the way and watched the Cavs win it all in 2016. That team was 80% lebron and kyrie. That 2014 spurs team had the best overall team chemistry (starters/bench players) I've ever seen. It wasn't a big three, or Kobe/shaq or a super team like the warriors. It was 1-12 buzzsaw that made the heat look bad.

Imagine basket ends in 2020 for ever. And 12 years later your son/brother/grandson/niece etc. Asks you to explain him about this weird sport he never saw and its history, decade by decade. You told him the most important things you know! And the most important and awesome things you witnessed! And you are going to tell me you are not going to mention the biggest shocker in the history of basketball ever? A 12 year streak of the best team in the world ENDED, by an small team without any NBA players in it, just one, an average looking dude from a weird named country that lead his team to Golden glory for the first time ever. A man that a lot of people said it would be a one season wonder, but ended up being part of the trio with most wins in NBA history. And one of only 8 players in history to win 4 or more NBA tittles and a golden medal. And the ONLY FOREING to do so. Sorry but if you left Manu out of Basketball History then your resume is not only incomplete, its WRONG...

Not only the best six man of all time but a top five shooting guard of his era. Just ask Kobe!!! He stated Ginobili was one of his toughest opponents. Because he sacrificed for the betterment of his team, his numbers don't tell the true story. He could have been a go to scorer on NBA team. Down the stretch in playoff games he often was the facilitator for the offense along with Timmie. G-UNIT simply one the best to ever do it. Just go watch some tape!!!!!!!

You guys are so right. Love you guys. Ginobili played every game with the heart of a champion. All he ever cared about was helping his teammates to victory through a lot of sacrifices. Who else would be so hard on themselves and cry in the locker room in front of his teammates. He didn’t care. He hated to let his teammates down and took the losses personally. He truly loved his teammates, Coach Pop, the people of San Antonio, and he truly loves the SPURS! It was always fun to watch him play because you knew he was going to leave it all on the court. What more could you ask from a player. I’ve seen a player love the game as much as him. It was all about the team and none of it was about Ginobili. It’s too bad that his talents were unappreciated because he didn’t need to receive the accolades and recognition other players need or to be a starter. The game wasn’t about him. It was for the SPURS and the fans. I can’t wait until he is inducted into the Hall Of Fame. Do they make announcements when someone is getting inducted and do they sell tickets for this? This would totally be a dream come true. He deserves to be there because he earned it!

2008 Playoffs against the Suns, Game 1. Off the inbounds play Manu drives left off of Timmy's screen, gets hedged by Shaq, has the game sense to pass it over his right shoulder to Timmy for the 3 to tie it to go to 2OT! Even tho Timmy made the 3, the pass was just as amazing because of his game sense and knowing where Timmy would be. Amazing

I know how you feel, I was 14 when Bird and Magic played that NCAA championship game. Now all of my era guys are in there mid 50's. I started watching the NBA when Kareem and Dr. J were the super stars in the league now they are old men.

The difference between Jamaal Crawford and Manu Ginobili is that the former was a professional off the bench scorer and Manu was a professional off the bench WINNER. There really isn't a weak side to Manu's game. The mental and physical toughness,the clutch plays,the observation skills. Manu was surely less talented that many other NBA players but he was working even when he was sleeping. He grinded out an NBA draft presence,worked and worked,never skipped on his national team duties and always...ALWAYS won. Olympics and NBA champion,All Star and Sixth Man but,above all,an inspiration to younger basketball players out there. Just ask James Harden or Kyrie Irving. They'll tell you what Manu really is capable of. 20%? That's about as much of a fuck I give about stats guys.

My favorite moment of Manu would be... Nah it's so hard to choose, He has so many clutch shots, he can score less than 10 then be on fire on the 4th and show on clutch situations. Respect to Mai boi Manu.

It’s the BASKETBALL Hall of Fame, not the NBA hall of fame. He had one of the best international careers on top of a great NBA career. Beat team USA for gold in 2004. Euro league champ and MVP as well.

If you ever took the time to watch him play you know he could have started on any team and been one of the best couple shooting guards/point guards in the NBA. This is a no brainer.

Only won the chip his first year. Bust down game winners/blocks/charges. Really clutch, definitely didn't want him wide open nor a the free throw line. 16 year playoff run was there every 4th ending hmm. 4 chips like Mike won against Detroit.🍟

Top 25 on the play off scoring and assist list and # 10 all time in steals. Interesting thought, there's numerous hall of famers that are no were to be seen on these lists. When the stakes were the highest and the lights were the brightest Ginobili was an all time performer.

I think it was in the 2005 finals against the pistons...last ball in the last seconds.. Manu played and MVP finals all series. But this particular play..again.. last seconds, last game, he get or stole the ball and run the court. He could dunk that damm ball and get all the applauses all the glory. That move could seal the deal for him!!! but leave a miracle window for Detroit. And thats the exact point!!!! He is a winner! Even if he lose personal achievements on the way. Theres some commentaries below about Carmelo or Crowford being better...whaaaaaat??????? Just think about it...put that guys in that possession...in that moment. Its not a brainer. Its basketball
