2 weeks ago I published this almost identical video dedicated to the Jamaican National Pledge online. The message was received and shared by many who shared their appreciation and love for the video.
That original video however had a few issues, most noticeably the choir singing by the children did not match the pitch of the orchestra instrumental which was used. This was due to my personal limitations sourcing the materials and lack of equipment needed to adjust the vocals.
Thankfully, fellow Jamaicans; Jeremy Harding and Hugh Douse from the Institute of Caribbean Studies UWI Mona, contributed there time, energy and resources to updating the music bed with a better choral performance through their experience in music and editing.
ENJOY!
Original Video link and Description:
• JAMAICAN NATIONAL PLED...
In Honour of Jamaica’s Heritage Week and Heroes Day which just past, this video was created as my reflection on our heroes sacrifice and re-dedication to our responsibilities we all have as citizens of Jamaica. We all made a pledge, we said the words, and some of us probably sang the song. This video serves as a reminder and message to everyone. Somehow it seems like many of us have forgotten that pledge we made.
If you are like me… a Jamaican raised on this land .
Let us honour our heroes so that they would not have sacrificed so much in vain….. I hope this video can make a difference to even one soul. If it does, it would all be worth it.
If you feel the way I do, share it. May my voice become yours.
This video is 1 and half years in the making to accumulate the visuals you see here. It was shot completely in 4K and the cost to produce this video is higher than I am willing to state
This production was inspired, produced, written, narrated, shot and edited by Jamieson Daley.
Singing Vocals sourced from CPTC.
However, many others were involved in some way, too many to name, but you all know yourself. I must however give recognition to KIG Kingston Industrial Garage for all the support safely moving me around the island with their dependable and off-road capable vehicles. Also, Kanopi House for supporting and sheltering me so often in the attempt of capturing the beast which is Portland (my favorite parish to explore).
Interested in supporting or commissioning future video projects?

That is one of the most moving things I have ever seen. Every true Jamaican needs to see this, meditate on it, and let it seep into their souls. So that we can begin to live up to that pledge that we all made, to the uplifting of this land.

I'm almost aged 70 years. I so want to return to the land of my formative years & yes I do recall that which I learnt in primary school; I think it's now grade school; but for the extreme violence. I usually look on KZfaq to capture the nostalgia of the past dream of growing up in paradise. Long live JAMAICA - the land of wood and water.

There was a Jamaica thay we all knew. She isn’t dead, just forgotten. Perhaps one day she'll return. And if she doesn't she'll live on in the hearts of a few. Despite all that is, we will try... try to do our part.

I say this unashamedly to say, that the ethos and spirit of our Founding Fathers, National Heroes and the words and spirit of our National Anthem is a guiding light and prayer for all the nations and mankind. Our anthem is the most transcendent of all the songs of the nations as it acknowledges the Almighty and our dependence on Him for every good thing.

Your Jamaica is my Jamaica and I am happy to see and hear patriotism in your voice. I love that we have pledged not to advance the welfare of ourselves only, but of the 'whole human race' that I believe is the most powerful statement of who we are. I do hope and pray that every Jamaican would take a few minutes to sing and while doing so listen to the words of this most beautiful and powerful song.

Can we get all Jamaican Politicians, Police Officers, other public officials to learn and understand this pledge. Is it possible that we Jamaicans come together, kick out the infidels disguised as Politicians and take back our island home. Many have left her shores seeking better opportunities and a peaceful life but watch this video, Remember your early years in Primary or all age schools, reciting this pledge and the joy you felt. PNP, JLP we need back our home.
