Also Soul Brother #1, Mr Dynamite, The Godfather of Soul....When he performed the song Living in America in the move Rocky IV,, he was actually listed as the “Godfather of Soul" in the credits.

He was a fantastic showman. He was so perfectionistic, that he fined his bandmembers for a missed note or dancemove, or for unpolished shoes…

The king of........part 1: James Brown!!! SOUL. This performance makes me so happy. It is ridiculously intense, full of rhythm. I really like the drumsession and the backgroundsingers. Nice to see he makes a stageplay, playing with the audience in that way, crazy good. Must have been shocking in 1964.

This was his first hit record in 1956. He did the cape routine during his whole career. This is 1964.

“Godfather”, NOTHING. NOBODY called James Brown that in the 50’s and 60s !! That was a Seventies/ Eighties thing. In the 50’s and 60s, when he was Lead Singer with the FAMOUS FLAMES, James was called.. “MISTER DYNAMITE!!”
