I’ve had CVS for 30 years in a episode right now.. hate it so much like it won’t go away!! I just want it to stop!!!!!!!!!!! I’m 37 now almost 38 and still hasn’t stopped!!!! Thinking about anyone suffering right now as I am.. season change gets me also started my period and my depression isn’t controlled so I’m just at a extreme low right now..

Thank you so much for sharing this!! I've had CVS for 27 years and just got diagnosed 2 years ago. Still haven't found a doctor that has successfully treated me but I'm hopeful. This illness ruins live. I'm so glad there is more awareness nowadays and I hope doctors are educated properly. My ER won't give me anything for pain usually, just zofran. They act like I'm a drug addict and don't even come to check on me. Anyway, thank you for spreading the awareness of how horrible this is to live with. It's definitely not a "functional" disorder for lots of people.

Thanks for sharing. Because of a few people like you sharing their story I was able to find my problem isn't just a migraine. It's like a migraine with claws and teeth. Started when I was 8. Am about to turn 63. It's waxed and waned over the years, but since 40 it's been 1 to 4 times a month. I can relate to a lot of what you have described. But I have never gone to the ER, except once after an episode I developed kidney stones from dehydration. I also only throw up 12 to 16 hrs. For this I am thankful. Thanks again for sharing.

This started happening to me when i was about 26 or 27 yrs old. I'm 32 now and i live in Nor Cal. Im currently dealing with an episode right now -ive already missed 3 days of work and i feel like im stressing more and staying sick cuz im missing work on top of all of this. It usually happens about 2x year. Sometimes it will last a day or two and other times it can last up to a week+ But ive delt with the same Dr. Issues- Ive done several medical tests and everything came up negative as well-they ultimately chalked it up to stress. But Im just now finding out about cvs. You've described my symptoms word for word. I totally absolutely understand what your saying and feeling brotha. I want to try and get it under control like you have. This was very informative man and id love to hear more or talk about it.

My sons CVS was finally SOLVED! 🙏 It’s completely healed now. It was not a stomach disorder like his gastroenterologist thought. Instead, by a fluke, at a new ER, they ran more tests and after imaging his kidneys they found a polyp in his ureter (the tube leading from his kidney to his bladder) that would occasionally block the flow of urine, where it would build up in his kidney and cause excruciating stomach pain (really it was kidney pain that he felt in his stomach) and vomiting. The polyp was removed and he has never had a single episode now in years! I know this may not solve everyone’s CVS, but I hope it will point some of you toward other potential downstream organs, not just the gastro region.

I think I have this it’s been the worst experience it went away for 3 years now it’s back with a vengeance and it sucks because I’m having the same problem you had where no one takes me serious cause they think I’m on drugs

thank you for this when i go to hospital i tell them i want to end it took me 25 years for my diagnosis ..i now have barretts have had tumors removed twice ,,,59 now i take zofran now they are trying some weird stuff on me ,,,,on a good note my hospital now knows me well and treats me with understanding

I'm in Ontario Canada. I also have CVS. My cycles last about 16 hours. It's terrible. Any tricks on controlling the pain? Hard to take pain meds when all you do is throw up.

Thanks for your story. I've had cvs for 2 years now and have lost jobs because of it. Wish I had a boss who understood what it was like. Glad to see someone successful with cvs. Hope to find my magic cocktail soon so I can go into remission. Ive had an episode weekly for 2 years now..
