damn, heavyweight fights back in 80s-90s were really fast pace! Now we got 250-280 pound of lumbering giants. Just watch Tyson-Ruddock, Holyfield-Bowe, Lennox-Mercer, Morrison-Ruddock etc... waaay more exciting that any today's heavyweight bouts.

Not that Bonecrusher was all that bad as a fighter,it makes me wonder why he didn't hardly show any aggression in the Mike Tyson fight!He was usually the kind of guy who came out swinging!Thanks agian for a great upload!

Tyson was too fast, elusive and skilled to inside for Smith: great Power but slow, limited skills for him.

@Acronym Well Bonecrusher had 12 rounds to figure Tyson out, didn't he? The Tyson hype was real my friend. Tyson had a funny habit of putting world class fighters in defensive shells in fear of getting their asses beat.

Ribalta said Iron Mike isn’t the hardest hitter he ever faced and wants to step in the ring with Tyson one more time. As for who Ribalta believes was the hardest hitter he ever faced in his 56 fights, that honor surprisingly doesn’t belong to Tyson but to James “Bonecrusher” Smith, who defeated Ribalta via split decision in April 1985.

Ribalta fought a skinnier version(maybe 213 lbs only) Tyson. Tyson looked more powerful against Ratliff or Berbick and i prefer the 219-221 lbs Tyson who was still fast but more powerful.

@@FFMM7 Yeah Tyson still beat the hell out of Ribalta... Jose wasn't even that bad...just wasn't enough for Tyson..you'd need a prime Ali Or Big George to throw against a prime Mike in order to see a real fight.
