Hey there Tavis, and Hello from Australia :) James Taylor is the reason I first picked up a Guitar, and continue to write and record Music to this day. Wonderful job on your behalf........and I already have my copy of Before This World........but it's your "fault" that I now have to go buy the Deluxe edition too :) Keep up the Wonderful Work.........and Keep The Faith. Cheers, Dave Dwyer

So i'm sitting here trying to learn the fingerpicking on a JT song, wondering how can something that looks so simple be so hard... I must be on the 100th time around and I'm swearing... I'm not quitting till I get it... then, I see these two Smiley interviews... I stopped playing and listened to both segments like I'd watch a moon launch... thanks Tavis ... I've listened to the music of this man for 50 years... he's provided a lot of the background music of my life and he has my utmost admiration and respect... well done, James ... and thank you...

+Richard Chalgren Have you seen JTs short guitar lessons online? He shows the fingering on some of his popular songs. I do not play the guitar myself, but I still found them fascinating to watch.

Great interview. Somehow, I lost track of a lot of artists in the early 80s. It was a horrible time. Corporate rock, hair bands. The music somehow lost it's meaning for the most part. I expected change, yes , but not at the cost of well written material. Thank goodness I had other genres of music to fall back on.

I remember The Coasters from my High School days in N.C. They were our “beach” songs at the beach!

Thanks for James Taylor interview ! And i learn a lot of valuable ways to write songs and sing in such a soothing techs, back in 1984 ' handy man' was a broken song in Burma where those ppl had no idea of the words but they love the way your soothing styles slurs in right Melody points in just very simple tune if others sing sound could not even close enough to your Calibre crafts , to me and You've got a friend, 'How sweet it is to be loved by you are better than original ones,
