Sounding so confident about super far distant objects in space well beyond our scope of travel … what they give us is coloured differently to what the JWST actually records. Then someone interprets what they think is in the Picture. They suggest that we can see back, far back in time to when the universe began but this Universe is failing to conform to their well thought out Models and Theories … back to the Drawing Board Huh ?

😢😢😢 okay somebody explain this to me in layman's terms if the James Webb telescope is taking pictures in real time and sending them back to NASA in real time how are they saying that what it's taking pictures of is millions of years old?😢

The distance is so great it takes that long to get to us the farther away the farther back in time you go they measure distance by the shift in light another reason they use light year as a measurement one light year is approximately 24 trillion miles or nothing space travels faster than light 186,000 miles per second x seconds in a year do the math
@janegill8990
@janegill8990 20 күн бұрын
In layman's terms.... if you take a photo of your cat. Your cat is the same age in real life as the photo you just took. If you stood about 24 trillion miles away from your cat. (About 1 light year) it would take 1 year for the image of your cat to reach your eyes and camera. So when you see your cat and take a photo. You see it as it was a year ago. Because it's taken a year for the light from your cat to travel to you. Your cat, in reality, is a year older than the photo you took Now travel 300 million light years away. When you see the image of your cat, it still looks the same as it did 300 million years ago.because it's taken 300 million years to reach your eyes and camera. In reality, it's long dead, and all cats on earth have probably evolved into a super civilisation and developed their own space program. Your photo is seeing 300 million years into the past.

@@rachellewilliams5877 Are you trolling? The concept cannot be explained much more clearly than they did above. Photons are the particles which make up light. They travel at the 'speed of light', the so-called speed limit of the Universe. If you're traveling at the speed of light, thought to be impossible except for massless objects like photons, then time ceases to flow. But since we have mass and we are not traveling at the speed of light, then time elapses while observing light move across the Universe. Photons cover nearly 300,000 kilometers each second while traveling in a vacuum, and not much more slowly in our atmosphere. This is mind-numbingly fast, but they do not get from place to place instantly. You and I live roughly eight light minutes away from our star, the Sun. NEVER look directly at the Sun, but if you have the proper safety equipment and are observing the Sun, you are seeing it as it was 8 minutes ago, not as it is in that instant. If you look at the Andromeda Galaxy, the nearest large galaxy containing perhaps 1 trillion stars, you are seeing it as it was roughly 2.5 million years ago, because that is how long it has taken those photons to cover the distance between Andromeda and the Milky Way and thus your eyeball. Perhaps you are having trouble imagining just how fantastically huge the Universe is.

Ya but the light entering the camera is a year older than when it left the cat in the previous example.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

What kills me is if an object is even just 1 light year away we humans will never be able to go there. we can't even travel a 100th of light speed. as LITTLE humans we move slower then a snail in space terms.
