Many thanks for posting this video. I have the identical bike to yours so won’t waste my money on this product after reading your review.

Better spent on the power commander if you're looking for more power, then book in for a tune. Alternatively add some C02 values, if you've done some mods, which you can do yourself on the dash

I bought a FZ6S and it came with a powercommander in a box (not installed). The throttle was horribly snatchy, so I installed the power commander and loaded a map for aftermarket pipes (has leovince exhaust on it) and the throttle response was day and night different. Buttery smooth and no on/off jerkiness. I can putt around at low speed no probs, and no longer has the scary jerk when you cut the throttle entering a corner. Also bike runs slightly cooler (prob because its running richer now)

Thanks for watching and hugely appreciate you putting a comment... This is VERY reassuring and interesting...as this is my next step in the process . . Its an unknown that I've not played with before... Can you recall the model of powercommander? Where were the maps you could download? 👌🐷

Sadly a power commander and getting a on the Dyno custom tune didn't really help the throttle snap issue.

@@PiggyPower ugh sorry to hear that . Made a day and night difference for me. Like a new bike. What exhaust do you have fitted and which power commander are you using? If it’s a similar setup to mine I can try and track down the map I loaded

Hello @piggypower ! I've been reading all the comments and information you've left for a while. I have had an S1 for more than two years and from the first day I realized that the response of the motorcycle was not normal. You are probably the person who has tried the most things and has been most involved in trying to solve the problem. So, thank you for your work and try to ignore people who don't know what they're talking about... it's a real and common problem in fz6. Without being disrespectful, I would love to know whether or not you have finally been able to solve the problem, knowing that it is 100% injection and I support you with it. I have been trying to improve the response for a long time and today I can only increase the idle speed and notice a brief improvement. Kind regards.

Hi there! Interesting that you have the S1.. so far I was lead to believe in my research that only later FZ6 (S2) had the issue. Yes, I seem to have found a work around... Need to ride again once more and do a video!!

I fitted a Booster Plug after reading the reviews. I fitted it very soon after getting the 2009 FZ6 so didn't have much to compare it to. I did notice worse fuel economy by about 10%. I have used Fuelly since day one and so have all of the data from every single fill up with the FZ6. Having seen your review I have just been to the garage and removed the booster plug. I've got a 120 mile round trip planned for tomorrow - most of it motorway but it'll do - so I can get a fairly decent idea of the difference. The main thing that annoyed me was the wrong ambient air temperatire being shown. I don't know why it annoyed me, but it did. So, all back to stock standard and tomorrow will be the teller.

Yeah for sure, be curious. I didn't like the fact is was tricking the ECU. Recently had the remap done by DynojetUK and need to ride and review to update everyone!

So I've done my round trip today. I filled up before I set off and Fuelly crunched the numbers and produced a figure of 50.3mpg. Did the journey and filled up again and Fuelly says 56.0mpg. So I'll be leaving the Booster Plug in the garage.

Your video is one of the first I watched for the boosterplug and sorry to hear it didn't work out well for you. But I think I have a suggestion for why it didn't work too well. I remember you put the air temperature sensor next to an intake, which would be covered up. It needs to be put where it is not covered up and exposed to open air. I think that's why it didn't work well for you. All other videos where they rave about how well it works it's put somewhere towards the front of the bike where it will be exposed to open air.
@PiggyPower
@PiggyPower 10 ай бұрын
The sensor is located as per the instructions and there is PLENTY of fresh air there as the engine is drawing in 1000s of litres of air per minute past that sensor.

@@PiggyPower I tried one of those on a Yamaha SCR950 and it helped on lower RPM and going from being stopped, but I thought it didn't help enough after I was going in 1st and 2nd gear. And it was right up front above the headlight. So I gave up on it and traded my bike for a used 2020 Triumph T120 black and am far more happy with this bike, ride much more than I did with that Yamaha.

I bought one if these and didnt noticed much change on my AFR sensor (in fact the mixture was barely changed). I opened the booster plug up and its simply a resistor that has the temperature probe going across it. Very basic unit and nothing like the 'clever' unit they suggest it is.

Yeah I would tend to agree too. Just adjusts intake temps permanently that's all.

I have an 07 fz6 and G2 Throttle tamer helped me with that problem. I also added larger cushioned grips to increase the diameter.
@PiggyPower
@PiggyPower Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Appreciate you watching and being kind to add your reply. Someone else suggested the throttle tamer but as far as I can see it only adjust the ramping rate of the throttle cable... It won't stop that on/off cut. . .you can be as smooth as you like and still BAM, throttle cuts in. Could have a 4" diameter grip and it would still happen
@careyporter8824
@careyporter8824 Жыл бұрын
You are correct about the ramp rate. I wanted better low speed throttle control (parking lots) and it seemed to help with that. It still has the on/off throttle issue.

Will do. I may put the video up of how far I've got with it ... Dyno was very revealing. I realised without a co2 readout, and even with that, on the road I'd struggle to tune it. It must have the c02 sensor though, otherwise the ECU is blind
