ichigo the main character loses his humanity and becomes a heartless monster while on the other hand ulquiorra the monster slowly regains his emotions and his humanity. this fight truly hold an emotional weight and is one of my fav fights of all times

Ichigos inner hollow taking over him after he "died" was actually foreshadowed back at the end of his last fight with his inner hollow

Something to note, thematically, about Bleach: In every single one of Ichigo's "big" fights, its 'black' (Ichigo's black shinigami robes, his black bankai sword) versus 'white' (the captain's robes of Kenpachi and Byakuya, the white clothes all the arrancars wear) with 'black' being 'good' and 'white' being 'evil'. This is all throughout the story of Bleach. For his fight against Ulquiorra, when he goes berserk in his hollow form, it is the only instance where Ichigo is 'white' (the white skin and mask) and his opponent is 'black' (the fur covering Ulquiorra).

In the manga, Ishida's hand was cut off by Ulquiorra but it looks like thats to brutal for anime

Never kill Ichigo cause that's how he gets power ups.

If I recall, Ichigo in his full hollowfied state kept saying something like "Protect her", so I'm guessing that the only part of the real Ichigo that was conscious was his desire to keep Orihime safe, but his actions seem to suggest that his Hollow side was in complete control of the body itself, since he was pretty much putting her in danger in that state.

In the manga, Ulquiorra manages to sever Uryu’s left hand, while in the anime, Uryu's left hand was just severely injured and burnt.

Hollow Ichigo kept his promise he gets to be King about damn time

Ulquiorra always tried to understand what a heart and a soul are - he understood it in his very last moments...too late to change his heart and after a fight he shouldn't have lost. It's pure beauty.

There is an extra bit of backstory for Ulquiorra in the manga that they didn't put into the anime, witch still baffles me to this day. It puts Ulquiorras world view into perspective and how he came to be so nihilistic. It's really well written and drawn, i highly suggest you check it out.

Two things happened during this fight. Ichigo became more of a Hollow while Ulquiorra started to understand more of Human side

Ulquiorra didn’t fall in love with Orihime, I don’t know why people feel the need to turn anything and everything into a romance XD Ulquiorra started as a character with no emotions or any real purpose besides serving Aizen. He became interested in Orihime because she showed so much emotions and had great faith in her friends. But also he becamde interested in Ichigo after seeing how he reacts to his friends getting hurt. He started becoming more human, as Ichigo stated in the previous episode after observing Orihime & her friends ((to some extent)) He died as a character who finally understood humans and emotions, and gained the concept of the “heart” The “heart” was introduced by Kaien with his conversation with Rukia about people being connected and having bonds So it’s really poetic to see how everything gets connected at the end!! Edit: I like to think of Ulquiorra as a child trying to figure things out. He knew nothing but died knowing “everything”

He looks demonic until Ichigo tranforms.. then he just seems fluffy 🤣..

Now everyone, including SMF, can see the twisted and sad character that is Ulquiorra, the one emotion he felt constantly and he represents in the espada, was despair. Since I was 15, wow 10 years ago, when i read this in the manga, I decided to keep Ulquiorra alive in all my usernames XD but it was too long and hard to pronounce in chats, so I shortened it to Ulq. To me, this reaction reminded me of the emotions i felt 10 years ago. Thanks for the feels

to people wondering what happend ichigo has three beings inside him himself zangetsu (zanpakto is a part of him) hollow when ichigo heard orehime cry for help he surrenderd himself to his hollow self

every shonen protag always going berserk sometime, like turning to a monster, demon etc, but you still managed to recognize them as the MC, except for bleach, ichigo's transformation is the scariest, like seeing how they fight one would question ichigo's status as the protagonist, cause no shonen protagonist behave like that even in berserk state

this fight was one of the highlights of the arrancar arc for me next to grimmjow fight. just the atmosphere of when ichigo transforms and uliquiorra kind of being the one hunted and his demeanor towards the end right before he fades away. and just the animation and lighting...everything was beautiful to look at. even though i did feel sadness in how it ended.

When I saw her reaction she triggered a memory of me crying like a bitch when ulquiorra died but does tears was all worth it

You should read Ulquiorra's past (some panels Kubo made but didn't have time to include in the manga) and react to it. You would understand better Ulquiorra's character and why he is a nihilist and believes only to what he can see with his own eyes. It's very short with just a few panels and it's very interesting. The speech about his eyes and the word heart so used by human to describe their emotion is fully understood once you read it.
