It reminded me of the Buddhist parable of the two monks at the riverbank, and the small woman asking of one of them would carry her across the rushing torrent. One said, "Our order forbids us to so much as lay a finger upon a woman", but the other said, "Of course I'll help a fellow human being in need", and lifted her onto his shoulders and carried her across. Half an hour later, the first monk burst out to the other, "How could you wrap that woman's legs around your neck that way? How could you?" The other said, "Brother, I set the woman down when I got to the opposite bank - why are YOU still carrying her?"

And to add a lil' vent 'cause this dude is a two-face, he says he supports me for who I am (that I'm lesbian) but then the next day he talks shit about the LGBTQ+ community. LIKE... You can't just support me and not my community ('cause that tells me that he actually doesn't support me and would side with any religious bastard that would take away my as well as my community's rights away.. If we had the rights at all.) I once was so focused on my own thoughts, that I went into the guys bathroom by accident .... the reason for this is because in each building at my ex high school, the bathrooms were always switched. Like one building had the girls bathroom on the left and the boys on the right, the next building beside it would have the boys bathroom on the left and the girls on the right and so on. Yeah so I m sure you can see how I ended up in that situation. Muscle memory failed me because I was so loss in thought...

Earlier today I found out my entire class is transphobic. We were making Google forms for each other to fill out and the teacher told us to write the question “What is your gender” in there with the options “male, female, prefer not to say” the class asked why we had to put prefer not to say. He was really nice and said something along the lines of “some people don’t know who they are or just really would prefer not to say” someone said “well I already know everyone’s gender anyway” and the teacher said something about trans people and everyone 𝑙𝑎𝑢𝑔ℎ𝑒𝑑. They laughed at the fact that trans people exist. One guy even made a transphobic “joke”. When Jamie said he roleplayed as a woman in a heterosexual marriage, I immediately imagined him standing as a boy in a gown. I cannot even imagine him as a girl. It's too unreal, too weird, and too uncomfortable for me to imagine him that way. That is what trans people experience daily, but like ten thousand times worse, if they are before transition. And transitioning doesn't even fully stop dysphoria from fully taking it's toll on them either. It is extremely weakened, but anything they do, that stereotypically aligns with the gender they were assigned at birth might cause it to skyrocket. Of course, not every trans person has the traditionally explained dysphoria. I for an example do not have traditional dysphoria, but am still trans. And some people don't even have dysphoria, and are still trans.

The one about the son wearing a dress to school reminded me of what I did as a kid. When I went to a Catholic elementary school, 4-5 year old me (trans man) refused to wear the skirts and would go as far as to not care if people saw me without bottoms on. The school eventually gave up and allowed me to wear the boy's uniform because they wanted 4-5 year old me to stop stripping off the skirts. Then they allowed us to cut our hair short and wear the boys uniform. Several other girls at my school ended up stopped wearing their skirts, wore pants, and one other girl cut her hair short too. One of the boys in the other class started wearing skirts too that year.

But the health teachers can also get fired for mentioning the word condom or birth control so 💁 my school is just really weird about religion though. Kids are allowed to wear religious symbols and express their religious freedom. Youll see little girls wearing cross necklaces all the time. I show up with one pentagram earring and it gets taken away. My parents had to file a complaint against the school for disrespecting our family's religious beliefs. So they technically arent allowed to preach religious stances but they sure as hell show a bias.
@Denturess3 жыл бұрын
I dunno about other religions but I went to a school where they taught Christianity and Catholicism. And what I found is that the bible is always contradicting itself. We were taught to do onto others as we wish others would do onto us. Treat everyone with love, kindness, understanding and respect as Jesus did. I remember so many times we’d read stories about Jesus sitting down to break bread with “sinners” and talking to them, hearing their stories, when no one else would. But these ppl who say they follow what the bible says don’t do any of that. They have absolutely no empathy or compassion which is like one of the biggest teachings of Jesus. They get tattoos of the cross Jesus was once nailed on yet do absolutely none of the things he did. instead choosing to nitpick the bible and only caring for the parts that let them do harm onto others. Like, what’s the point then? Btw I am neither catholic nor Christian. I’m just rambling. To anyone that read this far: have a nice day ✨

Jammi is so damn wholesome, even when covering transphobia and homophobia. Jammi you are a living ray of sunshine.

One time I was using the restroom in a bar and a drunk guy walked in. You know what he did? He used the bathroom. Because that's what people do in them. And then when he came out, he laughed at the fact that he didn't question the lack of urinals. The sign on a bathroom door is not magical. It is not a mystical forcefield that keeps the "wrong" gender out. There is a real concern of danger in public bathrooms, but that issue shouldn't be hidden behind people using the "wrong" bathroom.

There are actually people who believe women who wear heavy makeup are doing it to hide the fact that they're actually crossdressers.

Or she's just disgusted that some weirdo is going to change out her tampon by the makeup mirror instead of in the stall like normal people do.

Zela Morre Yeah true. If you do it outside the stall, and in the mirror, you are..d i s g u s t i n g.

“The school told me son it’s OK if he wants to do something unusual but harmless. They’re not forcing him into a dress and he probably doesn’t want to wear one, but if he did, he would be SUPPORTED and made to feel COMFORTABLE with himself. Outrageous!”

I live in a really homophobic country and my school is too , for my freshman year we had a new teacher for my literature and theatre class . He was from another country and was really open minded . One day we where doing role play and he matched two guys to acted, they were uncomfortable then one of them said “but we are both like..boys ?” And the other agree , then the teacher just look at them and said And ?? Two boys can be in a relationship so can two girls ! They where speechless. I love him ! He is the best teacher I have ever had ( he also asked our pronouns and stuff )

6:00 am I the only one that when "genderbending" is mentioned the avatar theme kicks in my head and I imagine Katara saying: "water, earth, fire, air, gender. long ago the five nations lived together in armony, but everything changed when the gender nation attacked." lmao XD
