I agree with the comments about the Janet doc. There were certain topics where she barely even spoke about the topic. I don’t remember her saying anything about Poetic Justice. Everything we found out was from Regina King and Q-Tip. I would’ve loved to hear about her experience from her especially since I’ve seen docs where they interview other people on a topic then have the star of the doc respond to what was said during those interviews. Also…even if she told Justin not to say anything…he could’ve spoke up. The way she phrased what happened seemed like he put it out there as a question about if he should speak up instead of coming to her saying he WOULD stick up for her as a heads up.

I KNOW they need ads and they integrate them in a funny way so its cool BUUUTTTT they kind of kill of some great moments they have going. isn't it possible to put them at one spot at the start or in the middle or something. Soooooo many times the three of them have a FANTASTIC comedic momentum going, joking back and forth between the three of them and then the ad kills it and its almost impossible to just pick up from where they left off.

There’s a thin line between discipline and abuse. I think Joe Jackson crossed that line. They definitely downplayed his abuse for the documentary because you can look up what they’ve all said in the past. It seems like they have forgiven him and made peace with it since he has died.

I think by the time she came along Joe was to tired to go at her like he did at the older children. My grandmother had her last child 22 years after her 3 rd child. She didn't have the energy anymore at 48 compared to 23.

He may not have been as physically abusive with her but he was still mean, cold and emotionally distant. She said she tried to call him Daddy and he said “ No, I’m Joseph to you.” I think Janet has forgiven him but it does not excuse his actions.

The same team he literally called out for the way they treated him as well as other artists under that team. They definitely controlled a lot that he did that people don’t even realise. Michael ADORED his sister and they never competed and he actually hated when people would compare him to his sister because that was his LITERAL sister. No one should be compared to family.

@@EstherTeejaay ok I could see that. The editing didn’t help much. One minute Michael is talking about the second “Ooh” was off, then the next Janet is talking about they won’t let her on set. They seemed to be trying to make Michael look controlling. Like he’s a major perfectionist at the very least.

@@fancyfanny6143 him being in the studio telling her the second “ooh” was off was literally just him having a good ear for music and wanting his sister to sound good. It probably stood out a lot to him because he literally has perfect pitch. There are a few artists in the industry who have perfect pitch, and he’s one of them. He definitely was a perfectionist but NEVER controlling, especially when it came to Janet.

Great commentary about Janet! I agree with so much of it. It was definitely about her brothers too much, but she has always been sensitive about her family. And this was her opportunity to defend them and rehabilitate the Jackson image. I also didn't really think she revealed anything new, but I expected that. She doesn't even tell her siblings about her marriages. Why do people assume that she's gonna share her private life with the world?

Not only did "men ruin her stuf," they also profited off of her stuff. Without Janet at the superbowl there would be no KZfaq, which means there would be no Netflix, which means there would be no Disney + There would be no Streaming period. (at least to the prominence that it is now)
