I love this cover, this song is truly a masterpiece. Tracy Chapman's lyrics have to be up there literally with the best that ever was in music, this song feels so timeless and always has. Ridiculous, how good you are, and how you make me smile! I always like this song. But my brother, his girlfriend back in the day, she was half chinese, and THIS was her favourite song. Her Dad was an alocholic, he beat her up. Her mother didn't care. My Brother took her out of that situation, he mentioned to me one time back then, that's why she was thorny and quick tongued! And I had to forgive her, this new person, for her venom that'd sometimes get directed in defense in all directions. They are still together. Two kids, into middle age, those bad times for her are long gone. But I got them, by the way. Once I'd learned about it. I got the Uncle. I got the Dad. Nobody knows! But I got it done, once I'd found out. Guess her fast car was with my brother, in the end.

I normally love your covers. This particular song I feel no one should cover. The power in Chapman's voice of this screams a truth that other people simply cannot recreate. But at least this is far better than the country rendition.
