You know it's real when it makes you tear up man. I do every time I listen to these types of songs by her. Absolutely NO artist has ever reached me on the type of emotional level that Janis has and can.

Not to diminish the person you are promoting here but Janis Joplin's voice also had natural polyphonic qualities...she was often singing overtones of multiple notes in one note. Tibetan monks train for years to achieve this in their chanting. She also had an incredibly unique, bewitching voice and had incredible energy and charisma so let us not forget who and what she was---often imitated, never duplicated. They broke the mold after Janis. ~~Katerina

Janis Joplin doesn’t touch me with her voice, it’s not for nothing that the reactors called Diana the queen of goosebumps. When I first saw this appearance of Diana, my mouth would be wide open from those indescribable emotions, and very often in reactors, I see exactly the same reaction.

I have mixed feelings about this. It’s my favorite Janis song and HER performance is as raw and primal as it gets. But for some reason beginning the second verse the band goes light and up tempo. The music on the album is SO much better. Knowing her temperament I’m surprised she didn’t raise the issue at rehearsal. But good video by you.
