All good and informative but remember, all of technique will go out of window without good timing and rhythm. That's why different tennis players have different swing path depends on their physical ability and timing. So don't try to copy certain player stroke, better yet look at their feet >>>hip >>> torso>>>shoulder>>head. Arm is just an extension of shoulder, and racket is an extension of the arm.

Nice video. The more accurate way to describe the function of the left arm is that it will help in the body rotation, similarly to figure skating spins. It is basically a method to rotate more rapidly. The arm’s function to measure distance is secondary (we don’t have this possibility when playing the backhand, but nevertheless we usually find the right distance to the ball).

Hi, Great analyze, thanks! I am using a Tecnifibre 315 gr t fight xtc racquet and for my tennis class a Yonex vcore 305 gr racquet. I saw that the sinner technic was easily to apply with the 305 gr racquet. Do you think that sinner technic is more adapted to lighter racquet?

hi do you need to increase the firmness of your grip at the moment of ball impact or is the firmness or looseness of the grip consistent throughout the forehand movement?

It is a flip that generates acceleration giving lots of power and spin. Because the tip of the racquet is pointing towards the net the acceleration path gets longer and thereby the acceleration increase.

I like his how you pointed out how his wrist is still back at contact. He can really hit a good cross court the at the last second, he does have the racket back lowered that his free arm maybe to aim for depth. Thanks good work

Apart from the racquet speed "1/4" more revolution I see a superb way or solution to stop going backwards uncounciously with the racquet like WTA, it's like a back wall that only forces to go forward the very second you reach that load posiition sidewards with the racquet face totally to the side and parallel acting like stop limit. Furthermore seems to me that the former kind of guarantees being always with enough space to the side. Hard to get jammed or crammed with the upper arm too close to the trunk provided that the elbow passes forward first like Jannick perfectly does. Great explanation

Recently I am fan of Italian players starting with Berettini, Fognini and Georgie (for her aggressive style and her beauty), and now Sinner. It's very exciting to watch these players.

@@sunglee3935 yes, from the German-speaking area in the North of Italy. Note that “Sinner”, in German, is not the one who sins. “Since” is “mind”. He is the “minder” and he means it!

windshield wiper seemed to be the result of low to high swing path, and the wrist letting go of the racquet. it doesn't seem to be an intentional wiping movement. I could be wrong - trying to figure out the forehand.

this is not a true wiper and what you are saying is more correct....Sinner doesn't just have this one Fh either, so this is all pretty misleading unless you are only interested in the lift and spin Fh. This Fh is just the simple ATP straight take-back with a "swivel" to the slot. What really sets this kid apart is his Power Fade technique Fh.

It seems the racket head follows a long elongated curved infinity symbol and whips the ball on contact at the point of intersection of the infinity symbol.

I agree! I have a drill with my students and I called the infinity drill mimicking that exact motion, good catch!

Hi Mario, thanks for your video. For me, when I play tournaments or represent my club team, what is difficult is to plan my day for a lot of things to do. Program my day to get up, eat, digest, warm up, play competitive tennis and recover. I have so much to do, that I do not do what is important. I happened to have three matches in one day and it was not easy to plan my day and prepare to play the semi-finals the next morning. I hope this gives you some suggestions for a new video, which can help a lot of people. Thanks.

Hi Rui, I totally agree, planning like you are trying to plan, is a very difficult task to master and very few can do it efficiently. I give you credit for doing so! It takes a lot of discipline! What do you think of the takeback of Wrawrinka? He is an older player with a next gen forehand, don't you agree?

Love his forehand! Racquet isn’t quite parallel to the ground when it reaches the back, him and djokovic have the same take back, is sort of in between the modern fh and the next Gen fh. Thank you for the comment!

@@MarioRITennis I agree! Identical to Sinners forehand is the forehand of Jennifer Brady! What a power for a woman! Carlos Alcaraz doesn't have a next gen forehand (more identical to Djokovic and Wrawrinka), but is in my opinion a next top 10 player in a couple of years.

You are mistaken in one key 🗝 element. The windshield wiper is an illusion. In actuality the racket extends with the face closing rapidly.

Mario, a special request. Please devote an entire series to racquets, strings and racquet selection. Likewise another one on shoes. People have a great deal of difficulty navigating the choices that we have today. Have seen so many young players pick a racquet that doesn't suit their playing style, and then pay the price by having to trade in at a later date. I would greatly appreciate such a video series.

I am trying to do hey serve video, I know there are a lot of serving videos are there, but I don’t see anything that explains it from beginning to end, showing the real reference points step-by-step that everybody should follow,It’s taking me forever, this is why I haven’t posted in over two weeks. @@MarioRITennis Dear Mario, Just going by what I see on KZfaq, the general trend is to keep the subscription a few dollars a month in order to keep the base as wide as possible. It's not uncommon to find channels with thousands of monthly subscribers. Subscriptions on KZfaq have a 'Join' button. A revenue stream of a few thousand a month should allow you to atleast offset production costs, make more content. You could also partner with Sports Equipment companies to provide overviews of their offerings (for e.g, which Babolat racquet should I buy) every now and then - another way to stay afloat. On the whole, your content is so good, I'd be willing to pay for it, and so would sponsors.

This is NOT Sinner's big special Forehand. This is just the basic "lift & spin" with the ATP takeback and swivel to the slot. It isn't new, special or next gen and has been around over a decade. The Congruent Tennis, Power Fade is Sinner's signature giant Killer Fh.

Is there really something new under the sun? Take back with a high elbow and the racquet pointing forward....Lendl did that. Take it back high but drop the racquet head to the side preparing for the lag and snap....wait....Federer does that. Take the racquet back so far it's face points to the back fence....oh yeah....Djokovic. Put them all together and their love child is "next gen" forehand.

@@MarioRITennis LOL. I'm not a tennis instructor, but I appreciate that you thought I was. Just a die hard tennis fan and intermediate senior player that has followed the sport since the late 70s. But I do believe that the sport evolves, based on the players of today and the past.

Rec players have no chance of mastering ATP FH technique, they’re better off learning to get to the ball on time and in balance to make contact in the center of the strings and get the ball back in the court and do this more than once in a game situation. Sinner and his fellow tour players have been doing this since they were 3 years old and their strokes have evolved to suit their body type, flexibility and style of play. Even developing juniors should not copy a particular player. The 3 greatest players of all time didn’t and neither should anyone watching the endless inventory of KZfaq tennis technique videos.
