It is a flip that generates acceleration giving lots of power and spin. Because the tip of the racquet is pointing towards the net the acceleration path gets longer and thereby the acceleration increase.

Obviously this is old but they all end up that position so idk what your point was with this switch other than riding the bandwagon

The power he has on his ball is due to his racket head speed and his footwork. He is playing principled tennis.

I’m finding that setting up open stance right before the ball bounces and then hitting more down on the ball really makes a powerful shot. I find if I do closed stance it’s good for closing the net but harder to time it on my forehand which is semi western. What’s your favorite open stance or closed on high sitters? I’m also finding just coming in and taking the ball out of the air for a swing volley or regular volley is pretty low risk but you have to recognize it quick otherwise too late have to take it on the rise. I don’t think people practice mid court balls enough though especially high ones as that’s what pushers love to do to reset points.

One of the best lessons online on dealing with a high short ball. Thank you ! You've mentionned the possible "side spin" produced by this kind of shot, I've never thought of it that way. I'm looking forward to test it on the court !

I thought you guys are pro. Fixing the back pain easy than you think because I know kungfu and yoga, just stand low down with your behind sticking up from behind just like weight lifting style will fix your back stronger and get the tennis balls more easier. Just try it by yourself and you will see the result I used to have tennis back pain, I fixed by standing the right way that is

You make amazing videos, thank you. There's a new style two handed backhand that Coric, Rune and Alcaraz all hit; can you do an analysis or how to hit that style. Looks to be a huge shoulder turn, point the blade to the incoming ball and they are very powerful. It's like a Next Gen Two Handed Backhand:)

Hey Mario, sending you some positive feedback for this video, and your "reference point" video from 9 or so years ago. I adopted this forehand and after much practice, am able to hit with a very loose arm and a tonne of racquet head speed. I played a match recently against a very tough opponent, but my mental strength and match plan, helped me to a bagel and a breadstick.. You were a pioneer of these online tennis lessons and you're also one of only a few that are reputable. KZfaq is crowded these days, with Shmucks, who have nothing to offer than a misguided opinion. So, thank you my friend, for your anonymous help. All the best to you
