I didn't realise I hadn't subscribed 🙄 At least now I can say I was number 200. Fair play on the training, recently got back on the bike myself. I've also just bought the same helmet as yourself in black. Your tip on going cycling before you even get home is a great idea, the hardest part a lot of the time is just leaving the house 😄

Getting started is always the hardest for sure no matter what it is. That Giro is a decent helmet for the price, light, comfortable, doesn't look too bad and not overly expensive. Congratulations on #200! 🎊 🥳 It's a highly coveted position 🤣

Hi Niall. Hopefully, your spins will be longer and safer now that the evenings are stretching out a bit.it takes a big commitment to get out for a spin after work 👏. Take care 👍

Hopefully so, it's not so bad in the evenings, so long as I don't go home first 🤣 The evening's are definitely getting longer, love leaving work when it's not dsrk, makes everything so much easier 😊

Nice update and I recognise many of your points about re-learning to think and prioritise like a regular cyclist. Following schedules at the mercy of the weather at this time of year is very difficult, good on you for being determined and flexible.

Thank you, January and February are definitely hard work but if I'm to be fit enough for the Spring and Summer I need to put in the hard work now 🥵🥵🥵

Great to see you getting yourself organised just take it easy I didn’t after a 12 year layoff I set off as though I was 20 years old that lasted about 200 yards 😂 I do about 250 miles a week but I’m retired 👍

I had a bad year but not 12, I'm bad but not that bad 🤣 My creaky, overweight and unfit body won't allow me to go too hard, too quick anyway, kind of a built in safety valve 🙈

Good to see I'm not the only one. I'm 66, been off the bike for 2 yrs and only started up again last month. Did a fairly hilly 45km ride yesterday which is only my 3rd ride since getting back to it. My longest one day ride was a 200k audax some 8 yrs ago but have cycled France North to South over a week in the past.. My first target is a 100k audax in Sept then see where it takes me. The next PBP after this year will be in my 70th year. Food for thought. As you are planning an SR for this year, any thoughts about an LEL or PBP in the future?

Thanks Gary, my plans have changed now. I struggled to get back into cycling this year and started to fall in love with hillwalking again so I've been spending most of my free time walking and hiking rather than cycling. I certainly admire cyclists that take on multi day endurance rides like LEL and PBP and we have a couple of similar distance events here in Ireland, but I don't think they are for me! Good luck with your training 👍
