Japan may be the only place where I would even consider consuming rare or raw chicken. Chickens that are utilized in raw or partially cooked preparations are raised according to specific hygiene and safety processes. At the farm level, the Chickens are vaccinated against E.Coli and Salmonella, their feed is heated to kill those bacteria, and the coop houses are regularly disinfected. This significantly reduces the risks for Salmonella and E.Coli. At Toriki Honten located in Shinagawa (Tokyo), I had Chicken prepared as Yakitori (grilled breast tenderloin) and Tataki (seared rare thigh meat). After ordering, the chef sliced those sections from butchered whole chickens, and prepared the dishes right in front of diners. The chefs cleaned after preparing each order. Their Chickens were sourced directly from a farm that the restaurant owns.

Incorrect.The chicken is not even organic. And any chickens that are bred should have a healthy environment and diet and plenty of space and stress free. You dont need injections.

Ate here today 4/14/2024 in Osaka. Our meal was excellent and they were very accommodating. They want more foreign tourists to try their food. The appetizer was great. Our second favorite was the chicken breast. We did not eat as much as Eric and his son. We had to room for Hamon. After eating we took a taxi over to the district with knife making. What a great day.

Who knew that the video that I'd find the most exotic would be the one that uses the meat that's most common here in the US! Raw chicken as a delicacy... I'm blown away. Don't know that I could bring myself to eat it, but my eyes have once again been opened! All the best to you and mega!

I got to try raw chicken the last time I was in Japan. I did a yakitori tasting and they served me raw breast meat and prosciutto chicken. Both blew me away on how good it was. If I didn't tell you the prosciutto was chicken, you would had thought it was regular cured pork.

Wow! What an experience. When I first saw you and Mega eating the raw chicken I was thinking have they lost their minds. After listening to you guys descibe the taste and flavors I began to think it might be somthing I would try. The fried chicken looked so amazing. Hearing the crunch when you both bit in and Mega saying how jucy it was....now I need to have fried chicken. Thanks for sharing this unusual and delicious experience with us. Get some!!

Wow, raw chicken! Who would have thought? Certainly no one in the USA. I imagine the biggest hurdles to overcome are the idea of eating raw chicken and the texture. I initially felt this about sushi and then came to love the texture and flavor. Thanks for sharing!

Mega was the star of the show! Wife and I knew he would be very apprehensive trying the raw chicken. By his facial expressions he was clearly surprised with how good the various dishes tasted. And he kept going back for more. Good job Mega!

Here in the US, we've had farms cull off entire flocks of chickens due to bird flu and other infections lately, so it's refreshing to see chickens grown in a sanitary way in Japan they can be eaten raw like sashimi/poke. I'll never pass up kaarage though...
