1. ga is specific (not special then N is followed by wa) topic-making or liking,loving-sth particle, can only replace in place of o. 2. kara is a starting-pt making or reason making particle. making here must mean follow the N and make the N some-meaning.

@weedlechu
@weedlechu 5 ай бұрын
I’m really late responding but it depends on the origin of the name or stylistic differences! Often foreign names to japan are written in katakana while Japanese words and names are hiragana. Stylistically though, Miku’s name is written in katakana for some reason so it makes it confusing. I would say use katakana for foreign names and hiragana for Japanese names unless you see it done differently. I hope this helps!

@YukoSensei
@YukoSensei 4 жыл бұрын
TokyoACRさん、the particle に you are talking about here is not the destination marker. It's Time Marker に. The particle に also has the function to mark absolute Time Expressions which you guys normally use a preposition to mark in English. [Example] " I do XXX AT 5:00, ON Sunday, IN April, ON Christmas, etc." ・AT 5:00 = 5時に ・ON Sunday = 日曜日に ・IN April = 四月に ・ON Christmas = クリスマスに However, we don't use the Time Marker に to mark relative Time Expressions. (today, yesterday, tomorrow, next week, every month, last year, etc.) You don't use a preposition for those time expressions in English either, right? You don't say "I study AT/IN/ON every day" or "I became 18 AT/IN/ON last year." You may want to remember that when you don't use a preposition for the time expression in English, you don't need the Time Marker に in Japanese either. This rule applies to most cases. 毎日 勉強します。I study every day. 去年 18歳になりました。I became 18 years old last year. For some Time Expressions such as 週末 (weekend), the Time Marker に becomes optional. 放課後 (after school) is one of such examples. So, the sentence you posted can be said either way below. 放課後に宿題をしました。 OR 放課後宿題をしました。 And of course, you can treat 放課後 as the topic of the sentence as you did too. 放課後は宿題をしました。"As for (the period of) after school, I did my homework." I hope this helps. では、また。
