Your videos are awesome and preferred than other KZfaq videos about Japan! It gives a good brief history, detailed explanation of what's good without the long winded chatting of vloggers and the ranked choices are all really good, I have seen the Osaka Kyoto and Tokyo videos and you basically covered the best things to see with even a few less known sights! I enjoyed the video about Mt Fuji too, it helped me in planning which places to go for viewing. Thank you so much for the great videos!

Lived in Nagoya for several years and have been spending the past 5 summers there with my family. Fantastic city. Some other places worth considering (in no particular order) if you're stopping by. 1. Meijimura - hands down the best place to go with young kids. My kids love it there. The staff are crazy friendly. Lots of open spaces for kids to run around. Definitely get the park bus/train pass. So worth it...you get to ride a real steam train...also in summer it's hot and the buses are air conditioned. 2. Inuyama Castle - Do the tea ceremony...you can also book a night dinner cruise and watch ukai fishing...then eat the ukai, yum. 3. Nagoya Science Center - Dirt cheap and very kid friendly. If you have kids don't bother with the planetarium. It's awesome...but tough for kids to sit still and watch stars for 30 minutes when there's so much other cool stuff there to do. Also a wayyyyy better option than the maglev train museum if you're travelling with kids. The maglev museum is more geared towards train spotter types rather than kids. 4. Osu. Just the coolest place to go shopping in Japan. Period. 5. Gojogawa - If you're in Nagoya during the cherry blossom season this is the place. Stunning. Go in the evening for a nice stroll as there are tons of lanterns and street food. Take the train to Iwakura. 6. Nagoya Zoo - Very inexpensive. Food is reasonable as are the activities. Great way to kill a day and not kill your wallet. 7. Atsuta Jingu - If you don't have time to make it down to Ise this is a fantastic alternative. Giant trees. Peaceful atmosphere. Perfect stop if you're taking the subway down to... 8. The Nagoya Aquarium - It's a really good aquarium. But if you're heading down on the subway be sure to leave an hour early to stop at Atsuta. 9. Sakae - Best place to shop in Nagoya (I like it better than Meieki area). Crazy huge underground shopping arcades linking pretty much all of the major department stores so if it's raining you won't get wet. Don't bother with the ferris wheel ... it ain't that great... 10. Beer garden. In the summer a huge chunk of the central park is roped off to be a beer garden. Nuff said. Cheers.

Thank you for your Nagoya guide. Even first timer for Japan trip, they will understand easily. I am from there originally but now live in Los Angeles. Sadly Nagoya became 4th largest city in Japan(population wise). Yokohama became 2nd Largest city in Japan. Hopefully when the Maglev train opens 2017, Nagoya become more popular destination for Japan trip.

Great video! I'll be visiting Japan for a month and a half this summer and will be in the Aichi prefecture where my grandparents live. I dont think they'll be able to take me places since they're old, but I'll try to get around to some of these places myself!

Over 45 years ago, I had a "pen-friend" ("pen-pal as we say in Kentucky) in or near Nagoya. No computers then, so we wrote letters and mailed them back and forth. Nagoya certainly looks different than the pictures I received way back in 1976.

Thanks for this rich and excellent Top 5 ! 😀 Nagoya offers various and interesting attractions, and its central position in Japan makes this city a perfect starting point for visiting several regions of Japan. 😊 Fun, industry, history, gastronomy and culture are all present in Nagoya and I love that amazing city for that. 😄

Thank you for pointing out that we should visit the palace and not just the keep! Most other videos either confuse the two as one place or don't bother mentioning the palace at all.

I think this video shows good locations in Nagoya. But other good locations will be found. For examle,Nagoya station building. This building is so tall in Japan. You will be surpurised. And Ise shrine (130km(80miles) from Nagoya) is the greatest shrine in Japan. You will relax there.

There are many interesting places to visit around Nagoya. My cousin lives near there!. He enjoys to live in this country. I think it is a huge challenge to introduce yourself for another culture because all society has their own worth!.
Arigato gozaimasu! I also recommend a visit to Atsuta Shrine, Tsurumai and Meijo Parks, Nagoya Port and Aquarium and Osu Kannon Temple and shopping district.

Another fantastic video. Giving history instead of just "go here" is amazing. On an editing note, I'd suggest you don't pan left for every shot, as the video had so many transitions into pan lefts it didn't feel grounded. But, loving these videos!

Thanks for this great series. Your web site is always informative and this is a great addition. I have been to Japan three times and hope to come for a fourth time and have watched literally hundreds of videos (as well as posting my own). Yours are short but I would say up there with the best! I am hoping to go south next time so am looking forward to your showing us sites in the south. Also I would love to hear more about far northern sites in the winter season ... I heard it is possible to see ice floes crashing to the shore! So that's another video I hope you'll make. Thanks.

On this list, I can only go to Nagoya Castle and the one Toyota museum. =( I'm going to be in Nagoya for two days and everything suggested is so far from the city center and/or too expensive. I've been to Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka before, and I was able to do tons of sightseeing in those cities on the cheap.

Nagoya is an excellent city to explore the streets of, especially the downtown area near Nagoya station and Sakae station, but you're right that most of the major big name tourist spots are not in one concentrated area. Especially make sure to try the food, explore the parks and soak in the local vibe. Have a good trip!
In addition to Nagoya City, Nagoya Dome, home to the Chunichi Dragons, Oasis 21, starring Hollywood movie Tom Sellek "Mr. Baseball" Starring Christopher Lambert "Hunted" Movie It became the stage of. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oN-nh9ensMi4f2Q.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pdZmdMiJs72rZWQ.html
