Also, this is a bit tangential, but it drives me nuts that the babysitter is written as stringing along two guys for food and "Starbucks" (and drugs), and that that's the thing her exes take her to civil court over. Shouldn't she be on trial for criminally neglecting a child? Wouldn't the *parents* be the plaintiffs there? Not to mention a charge for possessing whatever drugs those two pills are supposed to be. Plus the exes should also be on trial as accomplices to those crimes since they were clearly aware of what was going on and didn't try to stop or report it. But instead we have classic Dhar Mann misogyny where a woman "using" the men in her life is far more significant and immoral than actual crime, and her exes are taking her to civil court (and somehow winning???) over all the times they bought food and drinks for her so they can get "refunds". Jarvis these videos are great but PLEASE stop entertaining chat's arguments about calling spaces. Just call a space and move on, your word being final.
@monishuday4002 жыл бұрын
Yes this. I've been binging these videos, and hate moments when Jarvis and the chat spend 5 minutes arguing on a square. Whenever this happens, I find myself skipping the video until the point he plays again. The rule should be no arguing allowed, and no fighting for a square in the chat. Jarvis calls the square end of story. If he misses one, mods can notify that one was missed,

dad actor has a really lovely voice. ADR is the technical name for the phenomenon of english dub in games and anime (and anime games not persona) i stg. and it is precisely because the actors sit in front of a microphone reading a script with little to no context, and not interacting with the other actors in scene. (not as applicable to western AAA games with big voice acting skill, where the VA is done together like in animation, but there are still examples of it.) the result is stitching together lines that just don't flow (scripts can also be read out of order for ease of insertion by programmers in games). i've always described it as 'voice acting where you're ripped out of any immersion because suddenly you're too aware the voice isn't from the character but just someone saying lines into a mic while sitting on a stool wearing studio monitor headphones'. extremely prominent in anime. that description might help you. (often people are calling ADR for 'their position under the boom mic shifted and sounds off' but like, that isn't the same jarring peculiar feeling at all)
@thehillisalive2 жыл бұрын
Film school grad here, ADR is actually slightly different than language dubbing and only applies to live action media. On set sound recorders try their best to get as clear sounding dialogue as possible, but when that's not possible, actors will come re record their lines in a booth and try to match their mouth movements. A good example of bad ADR in a movie is Sinister. The husband and wife have a yelling match and every time they raise their voices the recording quality changes drastically 😂😂😂

I babysitted a kid once while high as hell (her moms were there and they were the ones who gave me the weed they just wanted me to keep an eye on her while they set up their wedding) and lemme tell ya-- people who are stoned and 5 year old kids operate on almost exactly the same wavelength. Cause like-- before I was stoned, I was sorta meh at talking to little kids, but once you're high, everything they say feels like an epiphany.
