@@atcera8714 it depends where you live…i could get a tray of sliced salmon sashimi from H-mart for around $12-17 which would cover two servings of poke bowl. Poke bowls around where i live are $15+ so it would be worth it for me

@@atcera8714 there’s also a fish market spot around me that also sells sashimi grade in bigger portions for cheaper as well, can’t remember how much i just know it’s not expensive when you consider the price of salmon sashimi

@@tristamfs3542 and the filets they show are different from the shit that’s typically in the frozen side too. Whole filets! The only kind that isn’t fresh that’s near me is pre cut plastic wrapped 2 inch pieces.

I think where she is (as where I am as well) it’s way cheaper to make the poke bowl than buy it. For example to buy a modest low price poke bowl it costs about ( with conversion) 17 usd? In contrast if I buy the salmon and the ingredients I’ll make about 4 of these bowls. Cheap? Depends how much she earns but arguably if you can make 4 bowls easier it’s better than buy the same as takeout. If you bought a Mac burger as takeout it’s a another matter and not comparable. She’s not making a Mac burger though.

@@erinagr888 for me it’s just no contest though. I can get a poke bowl for 12-13 I’m on the coast and salmon sushi grade or otherwise is like 20+ bucks minimum and that’s just that protein.

Your analogy doesn’t make sense and you’re picking an argument when it didn’t exist. Edit: further explanation so you don’t go cherry picking more, cheap fish you find at the shops is not safe to eat fresh, never do that. Go to a well known fishmongers that provides the needed produce. That however isn’t cheap, sashimi grade fish roe is very much not cheap either and is wildly inaccessible in rural parts or less developed areas of countries unless there’s a specific fishing scene there since the fish eggs need to be fresh to sell. The video advertises cheap, cheap is accessible and low cost, not hard to find and high value.
