The Jasper Pro Rodeo 2024 is in the books. Thankfully the rain on Saturday didn't force a cancellation. It was wet, it was muddy, and it WAS A BLAST. Many thanks to all my friends at Southern Rodeo Company and all my rodeo pals - y'all are the best.
I'm settled in equipment-wise with a pair of Sony A7IV bodies, the Tamron 20-40 f/2.8, and a the Sony 70-200 f/2.8. I use a Ronin RS3 pro for my lifestyle footage and dig in with the Innorel LT324C carbon fiber tripod for the events. I use a Manfrotto 502AH fluid head and an Atomos Ninja V monitor.
If you're even remotely considering attending a pro rodeo event, I strongly encourage you to go. There is nothing like the sights and sounds (and smells) of being there - experiencing the excitement and athleticism of both the competitors and stock up close and LIVE.
